WR screens!

Is anyone else having problems with WR screens called by the CPU? It seems that every time they call one, the receiver catches it and take of running the wrong way to start. They they try and turn around and by that point they are being tackled for a 2-5 yard loss every time. Sooo frustrating.

Re: WR screens!

I’ve actually seen a few good ones run by the cpu lately with a nice block by the other wr to spring the screen for a big gain. So, I’ve been seeing the cpu succeed some, lately.

I’ve been seeing more to but they’ve gone for positive yards.

Re: WR screens!

If you call man defense all of the time they'll get destroyed every time. They are meant to work against zone defense.

I've seen this...it's nearly always on a bubble RPO.

It's not so much that the receiver is "running the wrong way", the QB is just getting the ball out so fast on the RPO that they're still executing the slight backward motion of the bubble screen, and blocking isn't set up correctly yet.

Normal WR screens seem to be working way better.

Re: WR screens!

Ya CPU execution on RPOs needs work and they use way too many of the smoke screens which mostly aren't very good.

Re: WR screens!

Agree. It's typically RPOs executed badly, rather than screens.

They also have trouble with HB screens, easy to shut down if you're playing DL and see it soon enough.
