All I do is let go the right trigger (speed burst) and press square.

Yep. Don't expect it to work every time though. Not very reliable this year. I'd say it only works 60-70% of the time.

Funny thing about that... I was scrambling with Carson Wentz when I hit the button to slide. Only he didn't slide. He got sucked into a tackling animation and I knew I was doomed before the play even ended. Of course he fumbled and of course he broke his collarbone.

I much rather him break his collarbone in Madden 20 than in real life!! haha

If he didn’t slide, then you did it too late.

I did notice a problem with the sliding mechanic yesterday. They are spotting the ball where the QB stops, not where he starts his slide. The rules state the ball is to be spotted at the point he begins his slide, because he is untouchable at that point.

Otherwise, I find LT+RT+B works fine. Sometimes I panic and screw it up, but, sometimes QBs do to. Hell, Mahomes has some scary moments trying to slide while still picking up a first down last year. And it’s not like it is finger gymnastics to pull off. Just stop waiting until the last second.

Yeah I had countless fumbles until I realized you need to let go of the speed burst before you slide

I think they changed this, actually, this year. I think that if u are a qb and u run past the line of scrimmage, u can simply tap X (Xbox) and he will qb slide. U don’t have to do the LT + RT + X if u r a qb past the LOS. U also must NOT be holding RT.

I’m not sure if there’s any difference in ‘tapping’ X or simply ‘pressing’ X, but I tend to tap it when I’m close to being tackled.

Edit: Just to add - LT + RT + X (Xbox) does make ‘other’ players go down early (give up) in order to avoid tackles. But, the qb, specifically, can simply tap X alone to do the qb slide animation.
