Human QB making throws by itself

I hope I explain this right.. so just recently I noticed when I snap the ball on a passing play if I don’t press a button the Cpu just throws the ball by itself. Typically I’d just press X, let my cpu drop back on its own and then press whatever button I throw to, I prefer doing this because I like how organic the drop back looks opposed to dropping back usering the left analog stick. Now I’ll press X, let the Cpu drop back on his own and then all the sudden the user QB just throws the ball without me pressing anything at all, resulting in multiple picks.

Is there anyway to turn this off? Is there a setting to have the Cpu not throw the ball for me when I don’t even press anything? Thanks.

Sounds like Coach mode is on. Double check the setting in the main menu gameplay settings - that one carries over to CFM's.

Weird that there's been two of these threads now in the last several days, from people who didn't even know where the setting was (so likely didn't turn it on themselves).

Wonder if an update kicked it on for some folks?

If Madden actually had a real coach mode, this would be avoided. I still don't understand the design decision of the quasi-coach mode in the game.

Just to update everybody, coach mode being on was the issue. No clue how that happened
