Players ratings should not be changing from game to game. At best I'd do it every 4 games. Hence I use my own roster.

AGREED.

Football is such a matchup game that it's a huge overreaction to adjust ratings week to week. Guys can look good or bad because of the opponent, game plan, injuries on each team, etc.

You need 3-4 weeks of gameplay to even begin to spot trends.

3-4 weeks? Plenty of guys have looked like the second coming for an entire season maybe even two.

The entire game is nothing but sample size theatre. If nothing else the rules and/or rosters are going to change on you before you learn anything statistically significant.
