I'll try to keep this recap a bit shorter than my last one.

Note: I use Gameflow for my defensive playcalling and conventional for my offensive playcalling.

I do nothing on my first drive, 3 and out. Green Bay marches down field with short passes and a fairly effective run game. Rodgers hits Nelson in the corner of the endzone on 1st and goal. Pack up 7-0.

I do a little better on my 2nd drive, but still stall out around midfield and punt. Green Bay has a promising drive going, until Jennings fumbles on their 41. I take over in Green Bay territory. I easily move the ball inside the 5, then can't gain a yard. Bush gets stopped for no gain, Cutler has a couple of passes knocked down, and I settle for a FG. 7-3 Pack.

Green Bay does a good job of mixing things up (and running the ball effectively). I assume that, on 3rd and 1 from around midfield, that GB is going to run and tell my D to key on the run. Play action pass, Jennings, TD. Pack lead 14-3.

I go play action on my 2nd play from scrimmage in the ensuing drive. Clay Matthews blitzes. Clay Matthews forces the fumble Green bay ball on my 20. Green Bay struggles momentarily, but eventually Rogers hits Jennings in the back of the end-zone. Pack lead 21-3.

My next drives stalls at midfield. Cutler is not playing well. Green Bay's aggressive D is wreaking havoc on my run game. I finally manage to make GB Punt. I march downfield, and Bush knocks it on from the GB 4 yard line. 21-10 Pack. Note: Brandon Marshall dropped a pass in the end zone on more or less the same route with more or less the same coverage as he did on Thursday Night in the actual game. If I wasn't so pissed off, both because of what happened in the game and what happened in the actual NFL, I'd have thought that was pretty cool.

Cedric Benson continues to kick my ***. But I manage to get GB in a 3rd and Inches, Rodgers throws into double coverage, and GB punts. I get a solid 14 yard gain on the ground from forte, and go play action the very next play. Hester streaks downfield, running right by the GB corner in 1 on 1 coverage with no safety help. Cutler overthrows him by 5 yards. I'm both pissed off that Cutler did that, and happy that his... erm... accuracy issues are being realistically represented in this game. Several plays later, Cutler has Hester fairly open streaking towards the end zone. Cutler under throws him, and is nearly picked off. I force a ball to Jeffery, and DO get picked off.

Green Bay goes 3 and out, I've got 32 seconds and 1 Time Out with the ball at my 46. Cutler hits Hester for a gain down to the GB 10. Marshall makes a great catch in the end zone, going up to beat Charlie Woodson. 21-17 Pack at the half.

Rodgers takes a sack at his own 1/2 foot line, GB puts from their own end zone. My ball in GB territory. I march down field and Cutler ends up pushing the pile in for the score from the 1/2 yard line. 24-21 Bears.

Aaron Rodgers has a very Aaron Rodgers-esq drive, including a fitting a pass into a tiny hole in the zone (Nelson got rocked, but held onto the ball), and consistently getting rid of the ball just before he gets laid out. Ends with a TD, 28-24 Pack.

Cutler goes all Jay Cutler and throws it into double coverage on 3rd and long. INT, GB. At their 30 though, so that's good. GB crosses into bears territory, and decides to go for it on 4th & 6 on my 42. They don't get it. I march downfield and, eventually, Cutler scrambles into the endzone untouched. 31-28 Bears.

GB marches downfield and kicks a FG with 1:17 left. 31 all. I go 3 and out. Punt. Green Bay gets into FG position. Green Bay runs some clock. Green Bay kicks the winning FG as time expires.

Notes: This was a fun game. Though I'm getting annoyed that the CPU isn't getting punished for throwing the ball into coverage. I dropped a couple 4 or 5 INTs. It would have been nice to come down with one or two of them. Other than that, THE CPU HAD A RUN GAME! Benson got 131 yds on 29 carries for 4.5 ypc, and James Starks added another 11 on two carries (5.5 ypc). I didnt' run the ball as much as I should have, 23 carries compared to 38 pass attempts. Forte still got 104 yds on 15 carries for 6.9 ypc. Cutler had a bad night, completing less than half of his attempts and throwing two picks to 1 TD.

On the whole, I deserved to lose that game, and I did. Probably not by as much as I should have. Still, best (most enjoyable / frustrating (in a good way)) game of Madden I've played so far this release.
Which sliders are you using?

Online. Some have used them for offline and have enjoyed them. I just haven't test them in that mode. It does play a little different offline.

Pretty intense game, went crazy in the 4th quarter. Accuracy was completely awful for me thinking about moving it up to maybe 7-9. This is with your modified set of sliders. I was the jets

Re: Charter04's Madden 13 All-Pro Sim Sliders

Just curious but has anyone really tested the Reaction times to see if it makes an impact on play calling? By testing I mean really testing. That is, pick two teams and play the same game over an over 5-10 times to first get a baseline. Then change the sliders and play the same game (same teams) over and over 5-10 more times and average them all out to see if there is a difference.

I'm seeing a lot of posts with people playing one game with one set of teams, then changing the slider and playing with another set of teams and claiming the reaction sliders changed the play calling. I'm not doubting it but I would like to see a real test of the slider, but it would take a lot of work. You also need to factor in time. Quarter lengths may alter CPU play calling as well so you would have to test on 15 minute quarters.

I also wanted to add that I like the set Jaredlib is rolling with and I'll have to give those a try next time I play.

No one is claiming to have come up with anything definitive. I am basing this on the fact that almost every game I have played against the CPU in CCM has been run heavy. Normally I get the CPU's run/pass ratio at about 50/50. That sounds good but, this is not the real ratio of most NFL teams. So when going with a higher run reaction setting I see the CPU passing more. This is not a test like you are talking about though. I am not doing that. LOL. Would take way to long for me. We really are just throwing idea's out there. The reason that I even think it might have an effect on play calling is with run reaction at 0 or 5 the CPU might be told to attack that weakness. If its 45 or 50 then maybe it goes with a more realistic play call system. I don't want every team to throw more. Just teams like Green Bay, Detroit, New England. If anyone would like to do a test like your suggesting I would love it.

Are you back to 45 thresh or did you stick with 30? Personally I feel that your original setting were just about perfect. Haven't tested 30 yet tho.
