got the game, need a bit of help....

had the same problem with the backtrack not showing up but then I switched from Hardcore to Advanced game type and there it was.....and I absolutely LOVE this feature, was very happy when I figured this out and realized backtrack has nothing to do with the rewind feature

Is there a difference between hardcore and advanced beside the player weapons showing up on advanced and the thing showin up saying "highlight stick" or "sprint" instead of the players name(which you can turn off)

I apoligize for my earlier rant I just started up a game on advance and realize that the difficulty can stay the same. right?


anyway i saw a replay. no backtrack yet but i got replays and TD celebrations. again, im a bit emotional right now lol, so i doidnt mean to act all crazy about not having replays.

Remember we actually turned off the post play celebration hotspots (at the community's request) for the hardcore mode. As you noticed though a lot of presentation stuff gets shut down in Hardcore mode in 09. This is actually something I'd like to change up a bit...I want to expose all those presentation things (auto-replays, backtrack, banners, hotspots, etc) into user-editable options for next year.

So basically, if you want to have all the bells and whistles in regards to presentation in 09 you need to play in advanced mode instead of hardcore? If so, that's cool. But, if you can change that up for next year that would be great.

Yep - advanced is the best route. Hardcore is kind of intended to be "no frills". After some play tests and releasing this to the community guys we felt like it was about a 50/50 split on whether people wanted it this way...but it was too late to change so that's why I'd like to just expose all that stuff next year.

Play style has zero impact on gameplay / AI / etc. It's only a presentation thing.
