Madden's voice will be missed on fall weekends. One of the true voices of NFL football for me all these years.

I'll never forget one game he and Summerall were doing. It was a Cowboy's game when they were at their strongest...'92-'95'ish. Right after one of the plays is over I hear Madden say something like "What's that on the field there? Is that a candy bar? That's a Snickers bar!! Nate Newton knocked the Snickers outta someone! Look at that!" He's laughing as he's saying this.

I couldn't stop laughing. There was really an opened Snickers bar on the field. WTF? Nate was more likely snacking on it and dropped it mid-block, right??

Congrats to John Madden for an outstanding Coaching and broadcasting career. He is one of a kind and nobody will ever be able to fill his shoes.

He was such a huge part of the Raider's great teams of the 1970's. I can't see another coach doing what he did for that team. His Raider teams of the 70's made me a fan of them to his day.

Thank you John, for everything you did for the Raiders, the NFL and being the driving force of the video game we all know and love. You will be missed.
