Re: Franchise Fanatics - What Else Is Missing?

In reply to what else is missing...

- Chris Berman's Weekly Recaps ala 2K5
- Weekly News Items (what to look for, off field issues, records, who's hot, who's not, matchups to watch, over/under, rivalry matchup info (past matchups, win loss records, who has won the most lately))
- Drama / Story Mode (couple in the first two items with this one)

There's so much they could do to make a Franchise play out like a storied Franchise than just a by the numbers one that would make gamers feel more a part of it than they do today. Franchise in all video games feels more like a pen and paper experience than a true, in the game, experience.

Going back to the training camp idea... Rookies should come into camp with hidden ratings instead of just seeing their ratings from the start. It could be kind of like NFL Head Coach where you aren't shown the exact rating but rather a range (ex: OVR of 79-86).

For example, a rookie QB may come into camp with an awareness rating showing 60-85. Then, as camp progresses and after playing some preseason games, the coaches see more of him and the range gets narrowed down to say 65-78. By the start of the regular season, the actual rating would be revealed.

All the references to Head Coach have me amiss. I didn't buy it because of how poor the first one was.

Sorry, but whenever someone says "Like Head Coach 09" I can't relate at all.

NFL Head Coach HAS just about EVERYTHING most of us are asking for from Madden 10's franchise mode. Like.....

-Progressive fatigue
-Realistic injuries
-Hidden player ratings and potential
-Position Coaches
-A depth chart that MEANS something
-Game planning
-Play Editor

Etc Etc Etc......

So pretty much a VERY solid franchise mode. Hope that helps.

Yeah pretty much the only knock on Head Coach 09 is that i cant actually control my team on the field, otherwise its pretty much perfect other than not being able to choose the length of a new contract.
