Ouch, no votes for the system that is going to actually be in 10.

First off, you had a good season....how much better do you need him to be to have another good season ?
It is an issue for lower rated players. If I have a huge season by controlling a 65-rated player, I want to be able to sim the next season, and have that player put up numbers better than a 65 player would get. However, without his rating going up to reflect his past performance, he will go from 1600yds rushing, to half that.

Again, think of lower rated players. Alexander was what 95? Then had a 95-calibre season. There is no reason to progress him because his statistics matched his rating. However, if I had the same numbers as Alexander with the 65 rated player, then he should definitely go up. Not straight to 95, but significantly enough that he is no longer rated so low.

Obviously not all 65 rated players have 95 calibre seasons, that is not why I want progression to follow performance. The rationale is that a first round pick who comes in around 80 and plays like a 90, should get a 90-rating so that when I sim he will play like a 90.

Re: Should attributes like speed, strength and throw power progress in franchise mode

I think speed should be able to increase maybe 1-3 points total. Only if the player is coming in at the age of 20.

Strength should be able to increase a lot more. Joe Thomas is the good example of a weaker player getting a lot stronger as he grew and played in the NFL.

Throw power should be able to increase 1-3 points. This past week I was watching NFL total access and Cutler's old WR from college was talking about how he was surprised that Cutler's arm has gotten even stronger then before. Aaron Rogers also has increased his arm strength since he first entered the NFL.

The male body has yet to even fully develop until around the age of 22. guys keep getting stronger and faster because their body is still growing. Players coming into the draft at 19-22 years old should have a greater chance to develp their physical stats.

Currently what devs have told me is Texans first round pick Amobi Okoye who entered the draft at the age of 19 would never physically develp further? When IRL he has developed further...

If your rookie is an 80 and playing like a 90 because of your stick skills getting him better stats, then you are skewing any rational franchise progression. You could have your entire team at 90+ by controlling guys that need better stats.

That's why progression should never follow performance.....performance should always follow progression.

Re: Should attributes like speed, strength and throw power progress in franchise mode

Well you know, why don't we do sliders. You can set sliders for what attribute syou want to have progressable and which ones you don't.. and to what degree.

Like if you set 5% on SPD then it will be VERY rare.. while 90% for AWR makes it common.

But in general, I don't think SPD should EVER pgoress, or if it does it should be 1 or 2 points max per CAREER! Same with ACC and AGI and JMP...

Those should be things you can improve in training camp but not just through normal progression.

Same with STR.. yes you can get stronger so it should be a training camp thing but not a normal progression thing.

Re: Should attributes like speed, strength and throw power progress in franchise mode

strength absolutely, speed not really, throw power a little.

you see when you play football on a higher level one thing that you will do throughout your career is lift weights. lifting makes you stronger period. that attribute should definatly be among the highest changing attributes along with awareness etc. speed doesn't really change that much if at all at the nfl level. usually the younger the legs the faster the player. if anything speed should go down if the player starts getting older. throw power should depend on the qb. again, its an attribute that increases at the player's younger age and no at the end of their career.
