What Are Your House Rules?

I find it interesting how others play Madden when going up against the CPU. Here are a couple of my house rules...

1. Don't switch on Defense: (Usually a FS, SS, or MLB for me.)
2. Ask Madden Everytime, and before the game randomly choose a number between 1-3 (www.random.org) this will dictate which play I will choose when I ask Madden. Keeps the game fresh to me. And prevents me from exploiting the CPU when I need to get a first down, etc.

What are some of yours?

Re: What Are Your House Rules?

I am only a guy on the front line when playing D, and i let the cpu handle the secondary.

Other than that not much else

1. Don't use speed burst on INT returns to reduce the ridiculous number of user pick-6s.

2. Control myself to avoid throwing too many screens and passes into the flats. This is huge and needs major patchwork.

The only rules I have, is only sign FAs if an injury requires me to or in the offseason. I try to keep my roster as true to lfe as possible.

Why dont you scout? I think its great that it works this year, and that you can fond some real gems in the later rounds.

Re: What Are Your House Rules?

Some rules i have...

1. can not trade up in the draft only down. ( i usually eye a player i want before the draft starts, if he is taken i trade down regardless)

2. i only will sign a FA during the season if i am required to fill a spot, and the FA cannot be better than the active guy i have.

3. 1 pick six per game.

Re: What Are Your House Rules?

In Franchise:

1. No changing positions of players on CPU teams to lower their OVR making insanly easy trades, i.e. moving a 90 ovr DT to QB making him 12 Ovr then trading a 7th round pick for him.

2. Same for contracts, although it's very tempting when my 80 ovr LG is asking for $30 million dollars and I know I could just temporarily switch him to WR or something and sign him for next to nothing, lol. Takes all the challenge and fun out of the game.
