My understanding is that the NT lines up next to the RE.

check the link out its quiet clear here!!!

http://football.calsci.com/DefensiveLine.html
That diagram of the 4-3 in the link only shows the DLine positions with the strength to one side of the formation. Normally the UT will move to the TE side. He's not just always next to the RE.

Some schemes don't use a true NT and they will just have LDT and RDT.

Either way, the UT or the NT doesn't ALWAYS line up next to the RE. It always switches depending on the strength of the formation.

You could say that the NT always lines up next to
the weak side DE.

Re: EA's misunderstanding of the DT's in a depth chart

I should correct what I was describing above: the nose tackle will always play on the center, then in an Under set, the UT will play on the weak side. In an Over set, the UT is on the strong side.

Madden only knows left an right, football is playe strong and weak. We need strong/free safeties, strong/weak LBs, Nose/Under DT, and then some teams use strong/weak DEs or even Field/Boundary CBs (seen more in college).
