If the defender has a huge cushion, you can call a streak and immediately throw the ball but that might be considered cheesing.
not true, smoke screen TB playbook I-Form (i think)

That's a play, not a hot route. There is no hot route for what he described.

Re: quick screen?

The defensive backs in M10 don't use their cushion/press correctly so maybe next year. On last gen Maddens, you could playmaker the receiver you set to your primary by hitting down on the right stick pre-snap but that was only for designed pass plays and not a quick read like how Farve used to do on runs plays.

Re: quick screen?

Most NFL teams that run that are actually in a run play and they are throwing a "quick slant" (a route which I have not seen in M10) where the WR just runs off the line at a diagonal, all the slant plays I have seen in M10 make the WR at least take a step straight up field before "cutting" into a slant route.

Most teams used to run that play where the WR would just stop, which I believe is what the original poster was asking about - but like so many controls that were perfect in last gen, EA took out the route you are looking for - it used to be down on the right stick, which is now a drag route - I really wish they would go back to last gen playmaker/hot route/motion controls and give us back formation audibles (minus the fatigue glitch), custom hot routes, and at least give us a pre-configured last gen control layout cuz it is far more user friendly and it just makes more sense as you had to let off sprint to do "special moves"!

Re: quick screen?

Just setup a few quick screens as your audibles. Using the screens out the formations you use the most.
I agree w/ bringing the custom hot-routes back though, along w/ custom playbooks. These things should be a given for Madden 11.
