Madden NFL 11 Presentation

Does anyone know if anything has been said about things like telecast integration, updates to the Extra Point, or anything to do with presentation in general (besides GameFlow and GamePlan)?

Still doesn't look like we're getting any broadcast style (ESPN, CBS, NFL Network, etc.) presentation.

I'm pretty sure it's been in considered, but probably won't be added to Madden 11.

If the madden dev team doesn't see flaws in the Extra Point, then they're blind.

Heh, I'm pretty sure that they are fully aware.

Anyways, there will be some new presentation elements to the game... many previews have said that they had to skip over things just so that the new presentation features wouldn't be leaked.

There isn't going to be real network presentation due to the ESPN/NFLN disagreement but there is going to be improvements to the presentation this year.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Presentation

I remember when MLB 10 came out, they said that the presentation aspect was put in almost right at the end

I cant speak for Ian but i feel he's the guy that focused some quality time on the presentation in last year's game..so i would assume that he and the rest of the crew will continue to add to the overall presentation for M11, i think they realize how important it is to a sports videogame. Its something that madden desperately needed and M10 was the first year ever that i actually felt excitement playing the game and all that goes to the revamped presentation..it just adds so much to the fun factor of playing a sports videogame..especially a football game. Rest assured..its gonna be better then last year..i can guarantee that.

If they can just get the presenation to flow better with the gameplay..its gonna rock. M10 ..it flowed some times and other times it didnt..im sure this is something Ian and crew has already been looking at or been working on..

I will say this..one major improvement that will help with presentation and flow of the game will be a better flowing play by play commentary..it was a HUGE problem for M10...if they clean that up, get rid of hammond..this game will feel so much better.

They also need to atleast "double" the amount of cutscenes in between plays and fix the problem with repeating cutscenes too often such as the guy on the phone..it happened way too much in M10...you know if you get enough cutscenes into the game..they wont repeat as much.. this was a problem with ESPN NFL 2k3/4 and finally ESPN NFL 2k5 added "just enough" variety and amount of cutscenes that honestly.. it felt sooo much better even months and months after the game released..so that along with getting it all to "flow" is really the KEY to the presentation and the play by play commentary also plays a huge role in this "flow" im talking about.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Presentation

I think "flow" is certainly a big deal with TV presentation in sports gaming. One of the things that was a small pet peeve of mine was the constant "fade-ins" and "fade-outs" to and from black. Whereas other games on the market often choose to go with cutaways and transitions. Just didn't have that type of authenticity I expected despite its many improvements.

I definitely think EA's on the right track, especially with the few things we've seen out of NCAA 11 already...so I'm thinking things are going to be looking pretty good this year in that department. I just hope that many of the repeated cutscenes and post-play animations from 10 that we saw in the early videos are either going to be scrapped or revamped. It's an early build, so...I'm not quite jumping to any sorts of conclusions just yet. But I'm pretty optimistic.
