They tried in M10, and it was okay, but not nearly polished enough.

So to the posters wanting EA to check out 2k11, I'm sure they did or will. But will it make a difference? Doubt it.
Yea...

I don't know if there is even an excuse at this point. Granted, there is evidence that suggests that Tiburon in some ways is not as detail oriented as the 2K staff tends to be.

But be that as it may, I do not think that Tiburon has the desire to put Madden's presentation over the top. I feel like they want to give Madden some atmosphere (in which they have), but I don't think mimicking a broadcast is their agenda. M10 was the 'year of presentation' so to speak and it still fell flat. But for what they seem to be trying to accomplish, they may feel it's successful.

Presentation that's done right is going to make the games longer. There's no two ways about it. I don't own NBA 2K11, but I've read a couple people say that trying to get through a game can be frustrating. On the other hand, the key to Madden 11 this year was to have games go faster. That was their intent. Authentic presentation be damned!

So that's where I think we are at with Madden's presentation. They'll give you some elements of a broadcast, but we're not going to get the whole kit-n-kaboodle. Presentation just doesn't seem to a major focus for them...

Being that they are the only NFL game in town, they don't have too. They pretty much give us what they want and say "Take it or leave it".

Presentation aside, they really need to hire a new sound guy who knows what he's doing.

When I watch a game on Sundays, I don't hear the crowd fade out then fade in. I don't hear "DE-FENSE" chants on every third down. The sound is terrible, and takes the immersion right out.

What I DO hear on Sundays, esp. in tight games in a sold out Arrowhead Stadium for example, is continuous, loud, boisterous cheering, so much so that it drowns out the QB trying to call cadence. Even louder inside domes.

IF all EA did was improve the sound to the point it mimics real life, I'd say they were off to a good start.

Now, commentary OTOH...........

They need to hire everybody on the presentation who knows what they are doing.

In Almost every thread regarding Madden on any forum, You see this:

"Madden should do X like Y sports game"

X = Every single feature/mode/decision
Y = MLB The Show/NBA 2K11/NFL 2K5/Etc

However, on every one of those other sports titles forums, you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT see this:

"Y sports game should do X like Madden"

GREAT point.

The NCAA dynasty wire is a nice attempt by EA to add depth, but it's not IN GAME, it's clunky, requires a lot of time and work by the user and falls far short of the features NBA 2K11 has IN GAME...not on an outside site.

They can give us the whole kit-n-kaboodle by giving the user options. For those that want the quick 20 min game they can select an option for no presentation. For those of us who don't mind sitting through an NFL type broadcast we can select that option. Problem solved.

Your idea of realistically solving the problem is to create 2 different types of presentations? I really hope you're not a businessman...
