Disappointing Superstar News (Automatic Starter)

Well there goes another year where I won't play superstar...

I can see those options as to why it's not here, but that first option is iffy. It's not like it will be exactly like real life, but once your OVR is above the next guy up, you take over. You wouldn't be riding the bench for a long time because you get your XP from practices to improve your rating. And for those who don't want to wait, they can do like Sony did with RttS and charge for training points to make it faster.

And to the second option, I'm sure with a little time they can get it to be stat based. I just want something basic to where I can at least climb the depth chart by practicing and getting my OVR up to where it needs to be to start

This is why I don't like these types of modes. There's no threat of failure and they bend over backwards to make sure you succeed. At least other games will make you "earn" your starting spot (IMO a lot of other games still make it too easy to get playing time) making you the starter off the back is lol.

I hate this news, but I understand why EA went this route. Not everyone would want to play through a challenging story mode. As long as the franchise mode keeps getting deeper I can deal with the SS mode staying more user friendly to casual gamers.
