Are Rookies Overrated in Madden NFL 13?

It seems some rookie ratings for Madden NFL 13 have trickled out, via MUT.

http://www.maddenmatrix.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=1930

Andrew Luck - 85
Robert Griffin III - 83
Tannehill - 75
Stephon Gilmore - 73
David Wilson - 72
Michael Brockers - 69

If you find any more, post them here.

Think they are overrated, underrated or correct?

I like what I see from the last 4 players, but not from RGIII nor Luck. I just think their overalls are a little too high (which means their individual ratings are probably too high, with a low awareness rating).

Re: Are Rookies Overrated in Madden NFL 13?

I bet Andrew Luck's 75 deep accuracy is that low because Donny Moore doesn't want his OVR to hit 86+... then again if that were the case, I wonder how low he would rate his awareness?

I still think people care too much about OVR. If a player deserves high individual ratings, I don't care if the are a rookie or what their OVR is.

As I said many times before, in Madden 07, if you made Vernon Davis one of the better run blocking TEs in the game [like he was]... not even the best [like he is]... he would go from an 86 OVR rookie to a 96+ OVR. Davis was crazy good in Madden 07... and was underrated.

I know Griffin has a strong arm, but 96 seems kind of high.

Re: Are Rookies Overrated in Madden NFL 13?

It sort of looks like they might have redone a little bit of tweaking to gameplay, because everyone's awareness is on the low side (or so it seems). I don't know what the rookies awareness was last year.

The reason I don't like that is because, even with a low(er) due to a low awareness they will still play at a high level especially as a user controlled player.

So Griffin has Flacco type arm strength? I don't see that. Tannehill is rated too high.

These ratings have to be scaled back. This is getting ridiculous. The should tier the ratings based off the hall of famers. They should be the only ones rated in the nineties. The average nfl starter should be in the seventies. Its getting to the point that you can't tell the difference between any players.
