Perviously there were contests relating to the result, is why the legality has been brought up in past years. The idea of this being fixed either way is pretty silly IMO.

In less than half an hour Barry Sanders will be announced as Madden 25 cover athlete. Who better to represent 25 years of Madden football gaming and the new Run Free feature than a old school but Madden generation legend Barry Sanders. Plus Barry Sanders has been all over ESPN lately, basically subliminal advertising and rekindling fund memories of Barry Sanders. If the passing game was getting a major upgrade, I guarantee a Qb would win the cover vote.

I guess I'm one of the few people who don't believe the cover tournament is fixed. AP was one of the most popular players last year, coming back from injury and almost breaking a record. In fact I'd say the only player as popular as AP is Calvin Johnson and he won last year. As far as legends go Barry Sanders is probably the most popular. He retired in his prime which leaves fans wondering what could of happened and asking how he was so good on an average team. He's almost an underdog in some ways and people love that.

Maybe its fixed, I don't know, but if it wasn't I still think Sanders and AP would be in the finals.

with the cover vote going on now... what are some of the new features that will be highlighted and could it further cement that the vote is fixed?
