I believe it is fixed and the whole bracket is just to drum more casual interest.

I believe it was fixed. As good as Richard Sherman is, for him to leapfrog every other player, even after winning the Super Bowl, lines up way too perfectly with them needing a defensive player to figurehead their new defensive fixes for the upcoming game.

Of course it's fixed. Anything like that is fixed. I don't bother with things like that because they already know who is gonna win.
