Thanks to Skuxx24 and Sheisty.
I too ran into the "Corrupted Roster" message.

My issue was under section 4, steps f. and g. After inputting the unique identifiers I had written down, I needed to click "Save ID Set". This had to be done prior to the Rehash and Resign.

f. Input the Device & Profile ID's appropriately from step 7. These are unique Identifiers for your console and USB -> Click "Save ID Set"
g. Click Rehash and Resign The lower left corner will flash Rehased & Resigned briefly, and you will hear a beep

I have a wintec filemate 4gb flash drive. Cannot get it as an option to save in my 360. It does show it in music, video on the main screen however. Any ideas why?

Do you have the dashboard update installed?

I used my flashdrive all the time for video files, even played the newest games. I still had to download the dashboard update to use my flashdrive

You can just download the update and put it on a USB drive to install it.

Let me know if you want it.

What's in the video because the link for the video and the article in the original post no longer work?

Hey I've done everything correctly (as far as I'm aware) and still can't get the game to load the new roster file. I don't get a corrupted roster message or anything, the rosters simply don't change into the updated ones and instead are the default ones :S
