Re: NFL on FOX: Final Sliders

Sliders work different in play now and franchise games, are these being tested in franchise or just play now?

(Also, Thursday Kickoff) I've tried a ton of sliders, and I recently just got finished giving your NFL on FOX sliders a chance and I must say .. Good Effin' Job, Bud. I just had a PLAY NOW game with the Steelers Vs the Titans and here are the stats from the game.

Pittsburgh Steelers
Total Offense: 479 yards
Rushing Yards: 97
Passing Yards: 382
First Downs: 23
Turnovers: 6

Tennessee Titans
Total Offense: 321 yards
Rushing Yards: 36
Passing Yards: 285
First Downs: 10
Turnovers: 1

The final score of the game was Tennessee 27 - Pittsburgh 20.

Player Stats
Steelers
Ben Roethlisberger: 34-52, 400 yards, 1 TD, 4 INT's.
Willie Parker: 11 attempts, 47 yards.
Rashard Mendenhall: 6 attempts, 19 yards.
Ben Roethlisberger: 5 attempts, 31 yards, 1 TD.
Hines Ward: 10 rec., 86 yards, 1 TD.
Santonio Holmes: 4 rec., 54 yards
Heath Miller: 5 rec., 97 yards

(Other Pittsburgh players had a few catches here and there, but nothing to write about.)

Titans
Kerry Collins: 18-29, 301 yards, 2 TD's, 1 INT.
Chris Johnson: 19 attempts, 19 yards.
Lendale White: 3 attempts, 6 yards.
Chris Henry: 2 attempts, 12 yards.
Lendale White: 4 catches, 69 yards.
Kenny Britt: 2 catches, 67 yards, 1 TD.
Nate Washington: 2 catches, 16 yards, 1 TD.

(Other Tennessee players had a few catches here and there, but nothing to write about.)

Injuries
Mewelde Moore: Broken Collarbone (Out 11 Weeks)

Field Goals
Rob Bironas: 2/4, Longest Field Goal: 59 yards.
Jeff Reed: 2/2, Longest Field Goal: 47 yards.

Penalties
Tennessee: 7 for 49 yards.
Pittsburgh: 6 for 34 yards.

BOTTOM LINE
This was my first game using these sliders. I made a lot of silly mistakes with Big Ben because I wasn't quite sure how the sliders would play out. Clearly, by throwing as many picks as I did, the Defense was smart enough to pick up on my carelessness. Secondly, I feel that the 8 minute quarters/no acc. clock is a little bit too much for the game. When you watch football on television it's almost always the offense having the ball until the final seconds of the play clock being up. (Unless, of course, your running a no-huddle formation) With that said, im going to try another game at 10 minutes, with a 20 second run-off of the play clock, to see how many plays I can get off. The score at halftime was 13-6 Tennessee. In the second half we both scored touchdowns in each quarter. So, overall, out of 5 stars, I will give this set of sliders a 3.5, close to 4.

Next Game:
Giants Vs Redskins. (Stay Tuned for Stats)
Hey thanks for atleast for trying them out and posting your game and the stats. Like I mentioned on the first page I really like the feel of these and the type of results im seeing. I am sure the game time and clock can be set to someones liking to get them the realistic amount of plays for the entire gme as they do in real life. Let me know how it goes and again thank you for trying these.

Re: NFL on FOX: Final Sliders

Alright, the next game I tried was the New York Giants Vs Washington Redskins. First and foremost, this was probably one of the most competitive games I have ever played against the CPU. However, I am very eager to play my 3rd game with these sliders to see if Eli Manning really sucks as bad as he did in this game. Anyways, here are the stats.

New York Giants
Total Offense: 159 yards
Rushing Yards: 122 yards
Passing Yards: 37
First Downs: 5
Turnovers: 1
Penalties: 1 for 5 yards

Washington Redskins
Total Offense: 307 yards
Rushing Yards: 72 yards
Passing Yards: 235 yards
First Downs: 13
Turnovers: 1
Penalties: 4 for 40 yards

Player Stats

New York Giants
Eli Manning: 6 for 31, 46 yards, 1 INT.
Brandon Jacobs: 18 attempts, 112 yards, 2 TD's.
Brandon Jacobs: 2 receptions, 37 yards.
Hakeem Nicks: 1 reception, 9 yards.

Washington Redskins
Jason Campbell: 20 for 39, 270 yards, 1 TD.
Ladell Betts: 10 attempts, 28 yards.
Clinton Portis: 6 attempts, 18 yards.
Rock Cartwright: 5 attempts, 28 yards, 1 TD.
Ladell Betts: 4 receptions, 100 yards.
Antwaan Randle El: 3 receptions, 74 yards, 1 TD.
Chris Cooley: 3 receptions, 12 yards.

Defense

Giants had 4 total sacks, the Redskins had 1.

Final Score

The Final Score of the game was Washington Redskins 20 - New York Giants 19. I was up the entire game on the Skins, but because of that kid named Eli Manning, my passing was unable to come through in the end and I went 4 and out. The Skins made a pretty good drive late in the game, and after I had their RB Cartwright wrapped up (and made a stupid mistake by trying to strip the ball at the 1) he broke free and ran into the endzone for the tying touchdown, with the go-ahead extra point seconds away.

Injuries

Clinton Portis was hurt and taken out of the game somewhere during the 2nd quarter. Brandon Jacobs dislocated his elbow and will be out for 2 weeks. Antonio Pierce hurt himself towards the very end of the game and would be sidelined for only 1 quarter.
BOTTOM LINE

Im not quite sure what in the hell was up with Eli Manning. I mean, come on .. 6 for 31?! I know he's bad .. but he is nowhere near THAT bad. Each and every time I had a receiver open, whether it was a drag route or a slant route, Eli just couldn't put the ball on target. I mean, he threw the damn thing atleast 4 or 5 yards away from the reciever each and EVERY time. The only passes that seemed to work for him were screens to the RB. So, the next game im going to attempt to play is the Giants Vs the Cowboys, a classic NFC East matchup. I want to see if maybe Eli just had one of those "bad games" or if John Madden thought it be funny to make Eli Manning the laughing-stock of the game this year. Giants fans, have no fear, Eli will produce a little bit better than 6-31 in tomorrow's game. Maybe 10-29?

I tested over 60 games in both and the way that I have each SLIDER I dont see much difference in either one. I really think these have a great feel and balance to them but I guess you could play the same 2 teams in PLAY NOW then FRANCISE nd please post the stats but like I said I didnt notice any huge difference.

Re: NFL on FOX: Final Sliders

For those who need to know, I am playing these games in PLAY NOW. I am very excited to begin a Franchise soon but I just want to give them a feel. So far, besides Peyton Manning's little brother ruining my win against the Skins (what's his name again?) I am liking what I am seeing.

On a side note .. IDK if it's just me .. but the Hit Stick feels to on-key when you hit it. For example, when Portis took the ball and ran up the middle, it seemed as though the second I put my thumb on the hit stick he got speared by Antonio Pierce. IDK, maybe just me on that one, but the hit stick has a lot better feel to it.

Thanks again for posting. Whats funny is you could go back and play the same exact match up and I seriously doubt you would have that type of game again. It is never the same outcome and thats what I like about these SLIDERS everygame is diffrent not the same about numbers each game. If you plan on playing anymore please post your stats and thank you once again for taking the time to post the stats here for all of us.

Re: NFL on FOX: Final Sliders

Game 3 is in the books fellas, and believe it or not, Eli Manning isn't that bad of a Quarterback. Below are the stats from the Cowboys Vs Giants.

(Note: I am playing my games on 10 minutes, 20 acc. clock)

New York Giants
Total Offense: 267 yards
Rushing Yards: 128 yards
Passing Yards: 139 yards
First Downs: 14
Turnovers: 1
Penalties: 2 for 25 yards

Dallas Cowboys
Total Offense: 374
Rushing Yards: 133 yards
Passing Yards: 241 yards
First Downs: 13
Turnovers: 3
Penalties: 2 for 27 yards

Player Stats

New York Giants
Eli Manning: 12 for 27, 143 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Brandon Jacobs: 18 attempts, 114 yards, 2 TD's
Ahmad Bradshaw: 7 attempts, 28 yards
Domenik Hixon: 2 receptions, 40 yards, 1 TD
Sinorice Moss: 1 reception, 35 yards

Dallas Cowboys
Tony Romo: 17 for 31, 257 yards, 2 TD's, 2 INT's
Marion Barber: 16 attempts, 117 yards, 1 TD
Felix Jones: 4 attempts, 16 yards, 1 TD
Miles Austin: 5 receptions, 88 yards
Kevin Ogletree: 2 receptions, 47 yards, 1 TD
Martellus Bennet: 1 reception, 2 yards, 1 TD

Defense

The Cowboys sacked Eli Manning 1 time. The Giants sacked Tony Romo 4 times. Kenny Phillips picked Tony Romo off in the 4th quarter and ran back for a Pick 6.

Injuries

Kenny Phillips injured himself late in the game and was out for the remainder.

BOTTOM LINE

After the first quarter it was all tied up, 7-7. At halftime the Boys led 21-17. Third Quarter all I could do was kick 2 Field Goals to give me the edge 23-21 going into the 4th. In the 4th and final quarter, big play after big play happened. First, Kenny Phillips returned a pick for 74 yards and a TD. Then, the following kickoff saw Felix Jones take it to the house and cut the lead to 3 with 55 seconds to go. After a failed onside-kick attempt, the Giants were able to get a big run by Ahmad Bradshaw on 3rd and 8 to convert the first down and end the game.

FINAL SCORE

New York Giants 37 - Dallas Cowboys 34

Next Game: Any Suggestions?

Re: NFL on FOX: Final Sliders

4th and Final game in the books, my friends. It pitted the Seattle Seahawks against the St. Louis Rams. Here are the stats.

Seattle Seahawks
Total Offense: 309 yards
Rushing Yards: 92 yards
Passing Yards: 217 yards
First Downs: 18
Turnovers: 2
Penalties: 3 for 45 yards

St. Louis Rams
Total Offense: 188 yards
Rushing Yards: 33 yards
Passing Yards: 155 yards
First Downs: 9
Turnovers: 0
Penalties: 3 for 17 yards

Player Stats

Seattle Seahawks
Matt Hassleback: 21 for 32, 234 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Julious Jones: 22 attempts, 80 yards, 1 TD
John Carlson: 6 receptions, 64 yards
DoNate Burleson: 3 receptions, 29 yards, 1 TD

St. Louis Rams
Marc Bulger: 16 for 27, 162 yards, 2 TD's
Steven Jackson: 13 attempts, 38 yards
Randy McMichael: 4 receptions, 44 yards
Steven Jackson: 2 receptions, 43 yards
Mike Karney: 2 receptions, 8 yards, 2 TD

Defense

The Seahawks and the Rams each had 1 sack.

Injuries

Leonard Little got injured and was out for the entire game. Bulger got hurt but was out for only a few plays. Same for Hassleback as well.

BOTTOM LINE

After the first quarter the Rams were ahead 7-0. At the start of the second I was able to score and tie it up 7-7. The half ended at 14-14. Only a Field Goal was scored in the last two quarters, by me, to give me a 17-14 victory in what seemed to be a VERY REALISTIC game.

FINAL SCORE

Seattle Seahawks 17 - St. Louis Rams 14

Will work on playing more games either tomorrow (kinda tough with the season getting underway) or Monday (if I don't get called in to work.)
