Re: Normal Custom Sliders Title Update 1

So I switched to the fast sliders you made just for kicks and giggles. To preface this, I use the Ask Madden as my OC and DC, don't user catch, and I never switch off my player on defense.

I wanted to test these out in the pre-season with my Bills and see where it took me...(I only played the first half)

BUF (81) vs. GB (85)
0 SCORE 17
85 OFF 326
10 RUSH 139
75 PASS 187
4 1st DOWNS 14
7:04 TOP 22:56

Negatives:

I'm a very average player when it comes to Madden but I'm getting my *** kicked here! The only thing that is really killing me is Ryan Grant having 124 yards rushing on 13 carries! He breaks at least 2 tackles a play AND he's had TWO of those cheap Pro-Tak tackles broken off for big gains.

Ryan Grant is a decent back but he's not breaking THIS many tackles during a game. It's impossible to get this guy down and it's borderline annoying.

I'm also finding drops to be a nuisance as Evans has 3 drops in the first qtr alone! Roscoe doesn't have good hands but he shouldn't be dropping 2 dump passes to him in succession.

I have a non-existent running game whic his killing my passing game.

Lastly of the negatives, my DBs, mostly my FS and SS are ******s who seem to want to go for the big hit (and miss) more than to bat a floating ball away.

Positives:

I do like the pressure on the QB. I've gotten 2 sacks (non-user) and tons of hurries and a few hits, even one that caused a fumble.

Game speed is right.

The Packers FEEL like the Packers when putting in all 32 teams coaching schemes.

I like their running the ball much more, I just wish it was toned down a bit. Not so many broken tackles and rely more on blocking.

I will keep playing around with these, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks guys

Can I put the coach settings in somewhere in the settings menu or do I have to control all 30 team in each of my Franchises and adjust it that way? ...and does it Make a huge difference with the coach philosophies adjusted.

You have to control all the teams to adjust it. I'm a firm believe that it makes a difference. Defenses don't blitz you EVERY down like on default and they seem to stay with the run longer even when they are losing.

Re: Normal Custom Sliders Title Update 1

Another game with the same sliders I used in the first game against the Packers, I simmed to the Week 3 game against the Saints and this is how it ended up...

NO vs. BUF

25 SCORE 35
505 Total Off. 310
65 Rush Yards 126
440 Passing Yards 184
25 First Downs 11
4 TO 2
7-18 (38%) 3rd Down Con. 4-11 (36%)
5-6 (83%) Red Zone 3-3 (100%)
4-38 Penalties 2-20
35:45 TOP 24:15

Player Stats

Bills
T. Edwards- 15-23, 191 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 87.4 QB Rating
F. Jackson- 30 att., 127 yards, 4.2 avg., 2 TD, 54 long (TD)
T. Owens- 6 rec., 71 yards, 1 TD (Had one TD called back for holding)
L. Evans- 3 rec, 45 yards
L. McKelvin, K. Mitchell, E. Lankster each had a pick, Lankster returned his for a TD

Saints
D. Brees- 38-63, 440 yards, 2 TD, 3 INTs, 72.2 QB Rating
P. Thomas- 16 att., 58 yards...8 rec, 44 yards
J. Shockey- 7 rec. 95 yards
M. Colston- 4 rec. 93 yards.
R. Harper- 3 rec. 22 yards and 2 TDs

- In the first quarter to was a defensive struggle with both teams trying to establish a running game, neither team was having success at it.

- At the half the score was 21-13 Bills. But it should have been 28-16, can John Carney not kick FGs from 30 yards out? They always put the punter in on fourth when they are at the 25 yard line or farther out...McKelvin's pick should've been a pick 6 but I purposely ran into traffic to stop the game from getting cheap.

- Brees came to life in the final two minutes of the half but couldn't punch it in before the half. He also came out firing in the third and leading two scoring drives (FGs)

- Running is still difficult despite what the numbers indicate. That long of 54 came at the end of the 3rd and put the Saints out of the game.

- Throwing 60-some passes in a game seems a little much, I don't feel bad for giving up 440 yards of passing, you should probably get that if you throw 2 games wirth of passes. They nickel and dimed me the whole game, nothing real substantial.

- I can definitely tell the difference between Ryan Grant and Pierre Thomas in the running game. Thomas was a push over compared to Grant, so that's encouraging. I couldn't imagine taking on a top-flight back like Gore, AP, or AJax.

- Didn't get a sack this game. I thought I would considering this game was in the RAIN. Weather doesn't seem to have too much of an effect on gameplay.

- Overall I would like to see the HUM running game open up a little so I can run between 20-25 times and gain between 60-120 yards in a game. In this set it seems unless you get lucky and bust off a big one you are looking at about 40-65 yards again on 20-25 carries. Is that HUM blocking, CPU Rush Reaction Time, or CPU Block Shedding/Tackle?

Re: Normal Custom Sliders Title Update 1

not sure if it was just a fluke but it is anyone having problems with excessive facemask calls i believe its up to take place of the non existant pass int. but i just got called 4 times on one drive and 3 plays in a row in the redzone really irritating so i turned it down 10 back to 50 and its still gettin called

Re: Normal Custom Sliders Title Update 1

I'm finding it a bit easy to run with these, I'm breaking off 2+ big gains every game with Chris Johnson. In the last game however so was the CPU's Steve Slaton, so I'm thinking it may be a speed in the secondary thing.

Otherwise great sliders. Will tweak rushing and rush defense today and try to see if it can improve.

Re: Normal Custom Sliders Title Update 1

after extensive testing in both franchise and practice mode, i'm positive that it's easier to pass rush and get sacks when the CPU pass block slider is high and the HUM pass rush slider is also high. i tried CPU pass block on both 0 and 100 and user and cpu sacks are a lot easier b/c of bill2451's theory:

http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ally-work.html

if you guys can, try putting CPU pass block at 85 and keeping everything else the same. also, try scenarios out in practice mode. let me know what you think.

Re: Normal Custom Sliders Title Update 1

Just had an amazing game in my Titans chise against the Jets

Final Score:26-23 (OT)

This game was a great game. I started off a little skeptical when the Jets drove down easily on a 12 play 76 yard drive which culminated in a Dustin Keller 18 yard reception for a TD, but after that the game was really a defensive struggle where I felt like I earned all my points.

I ended up having to score 15, that's right 15 of my points from field goals. I only scored one td which was a 3 yrd scamper from Landwhale, and I got the 2pt conversion to make it a tie game.

On the ensuing drive the Jets proceeded to drive down the field off a 45ish yrd reception by Jerricho Cotchery and ended up with three to make the game 23-20.

There was a minute or so left and I had one timeout. Kerry Collins had already thrown 2 picks and wasn't playing well. So I drive down get 10 here, 15 there and with 15 seconds to go I complete a pass to Bo Scaife to put me in FG position. He catches it with noone around him and I start running to the endzone, my WRs are doing a great job blocking the corners and there just 10 yrds now, 5, and he gets tackled from behind at the 1. The 1. So I call my last timeout and kick a FG to tie the game again with 6 seconds.

On the kickoff I force a fumble but who picks it up, not my special teams WRs or Corners no but my goddamn Kicker, he gets tackled at the 7 and we go to overtime.

In overtime I force them to punt and i begin driving down the field. I get to the 40 yrd line on a 3rd and 9 and call a curls play. They come out in man coverage, so I snap and the pressure is coming so I throw to Gage, bad move, Darrelle Revis gets his 2nd pick of the game and runs it to the 50. They then take a few plays get to the 29 and I stop them on the 3rd and 9. So this is it, it comes down to this, J. Feely comes out and the kick is up, it's good and now the Titans are 1-2.

Next up the 3-0 Jags.
