Re: Perfect CPU vs CPU sliders

Sorry guys;
I've been bouncing back and forth between NCAA and Madden. Took me two weeks to finish my week in NCAA.. Now back to Madden.
As to having to start on one team, thats apparently a computer glitch. My understanding is that sliders somehow are ignored if you start in middle.
As to updates,
I'm just starting week two of my season. I'll be experimenting during the first game with the adjustments I suggested. If they look good, I'll play out the week with those adjustments. Then I'll update assuming those adjs work out.

Re: Perfect CPU vs CPU sliders

Final Update...
After experimenting all night. I found out some interesting stuff..
1) Speed Threshold is EVERYTHING!
Whatever sliders you're using are directly influenced by the speed threshold. More on this later.

The ONLY change from page one should be... Rush Reaction to 62!!!
Everything else remains the same.

Now, back to my Speed Threshold findings...
This slider set at 75 threshold allows no long passes, too many sacks, and RB's get stuffed at the line.
But... set threshold back to 50, and suddenly the Bomb works, QBs don't get sacked because WRs are able to get open, and RB's suddenly get around 4.0 YPC because they are faster than linemen or LBs.
Other things such as penalties are a matter of taste. However I remind all that there are about 5-15 pens per team per game IRL. So don't worry if you're seeing a lot of flags unless it's happening every play. But you should see a penalty on roughly every other possesion.

Re: Perfect CPU vs CPU sliders

Updated!! Changes are on page one in big font.
Setting Rush Reaction up to 62 did not work as I hoped.
Created too many no gains or losses on the ground. End result was a lot of three and outs with the occasional 80 yd bomb. Not realistic.
Played and replayed the Lions and Cheifs about 20 times. I think I got it this time.
BTW, if you're doing your own sliders, be aware that single poiint increments are crucial. Game reacts extremely differently if you go past the critical point even by a single number.

Re: Perfect CPU vs CPU sliders

Just wanted to say that out of the couple cpu vs cpu sliders these have played the best for me. I have taken Madden to a new level for me recently by playing in a different way than I never thought I would get into. I am using the broadcast view along with the coach mode on and I am really impressed with what this game can do.

Broadcast view is visually better than the other cameras but the passing was just not gonna work until I decided to turn on the coach mode option. This has again taken Madden to a new level for me as I am now able to get a true representation of what the QB position should be. With coach mode on you can just let the QB do what he does and that make the game deeper imo than a human making reads and throws. The best part is that at any moment during the play you can take over and finish out the play. Completely awesome and when using your sliders the gameplay is great.

yep.. I think it has to do with Camiri being a rookie RT and Manuleuna is only like 66 overall as a FB. Aaron Smith was lined up on him I saw.

Only thing I hated watching is it didnt waste time off the clock. I tried clicking x when they went to replay but it did nothing, instead the playclock ran after they showed 3 replays or so then they'd show the team breaking from huddle. Just show them breaking from huddle at 20 seconds on the play clock (off the game clock as well if it applies)!!!

Re: Perfect CPU vs CPU sliders

Ok Guys, I'm mid-way through my second week. I can't make changes until I at least finish the week.
So far as the sacks are concerned.. Yes, I think there are too many sacks. Although, looking at box scores, four or five per team per game is not unusual.
I'm thinking about looking at Aggression sliders before week 3. Maybe dropping them by ten points for each team from whereever they're set by default. (Warning! Every team has unique coach settings., if you drop one team, you must drop the 31 others the same amount, NOT to the same level.)
The other thing I'm seeing is that the starting HB gets too many carries compared to his backup. This is obviously an Auto-Sub issue.
I might just adopt the Auto-subs from another post. Havent decided yet.
The sad thing about this is that I'm seeing proper use of RBs in a drive. Meaning that for instance, the Falcons let Turner carry maybe ten times on a drive, but inside the five, the back-up comes in and gets the TD. I LIKE that aspect! But I need to balance the teams that split time more effectively.
Lastly, I'm getting good numbers on receiving;
But I still don't like the tiny bit of separation I'm seeing.
If I lower the Threshold, it creates bigger plays, and higher scores. But still I want to see some YAC that I'm not seeing. Again, that might be something I'll steal off another thread, the Speed Threshold.
IF anyone has done some experimenting with these sliders, and has a suggestion as to improving them, feel free to make the suggestion.
I'll follow up on your suggestion once my week ends. Sorry, in mid franchise, don't want to make things unfair for my west coast teams playing later in the week.
