Yes it would be if you're withing 6 or 7 yards of a first down.

I don't have the game so I cannot confirm or deny some of the happenings being described here. I will say this... I don't think it's unrealistic for a team to pass up on a 50+ yard field goal. Though I will argue that most teams would attempt to take a delay of game penalty and gain an extra 5 yards for punting room. Now wouldn't that be cool if they did that in Madden??

Now, anyone who thinks teams would consistently pass up 45+ yard field goals is crazy. I'd be quite confident in saying 98% of 45-49 yard field goal attempts are not passed up for a punt. And a ton of teams would go ahead and go for 4th and 5 or less if they were inside the 40, with the rest of the teams punting or attempting the field goal.

Some of the examples listed here... if true... do warrant a fix.
If there was a patch, and again I don't have the game... it sounds like fixing this minor delima, the int counts double, and any turnover problems would be the things to fix. Here's hoping Madden does it!!

it's also possible to decline a delay of game, i just found out that was possible in one of them pre-season games
