weapons off seems to yeild a difference in play...for the better.

i posted this in the sliders section and figured i'd post it here because i was wondering if anyone else had the same result.

try turning off weapons,not just the icons, but the function.
1st i turned off smart weapons, then i just disabled them completely. it has helped a lot in getting sacks, incompletion's and some poor decisions from the cpu QB's(more human like).

What exactly does the "smart weapons" option do?

To add to that what does Weapons Mismatch do? To think of it that might finally help the PR thing if there's a return weapon.

It does sound like a placebo effect. Aren't weapons just icons that show how highly rated a player is at something?

weapons icons are simply an icon to show you that players special abilities

smart weapons mean a player will adjust to what is being called during the game.....for example Polomolu.....if you keep running the same run play over and over, his smart weapon ability kicks in and he will know when u call the play......

I never used Weapons in the first place.

Weapons, Vision Cone, IQ... all features EA spent lots of time on that I never bothered with because I saw them as distractions from the real game.



What I DO like is the things like the players on the field diving on dropped balls and helping other players up after plays. The frustration they show after a turnover and the fist-pumping they do on big plays.

It's the little things that happen NATURALLY on the field that I like. These are the things EA should focus on. I HATE gimmicks - they are a waste of time.

I hope next year they focus on more emotional responses from not only players on the field but the people on the sidelines. Right now, the sideline people just stand in place perfectly still - even if a player on the field goes running right into them. And the Coaches need to be more visible too, not just on challenges.
