This sums up my experience. I rarely throw outs for this reason.

Yes but the zone shading will stop the slants many times. The slant is a tough pattern to defend to be honest. This is why it works so well IRL also.

Tell me about zone shading does wonders for your pass defense.

The game gives you MOST of the options you need to be successful on Defense but its up to the user to use them.
