Re: Requesting feedback on 5-step drop animation

Okay idea for the dropback animation (and the inherent problem of people wanting to breakout and run, but still using some sort of realism to make them drop back realistically)

Since people want the ability to choose which dropback to use (3,5,7) how about tie the dropback into the primary route of the play. So if its a slant it will be a 3step, etc... also allows us to change the primary route preplay at the line, which will change the dropback to match.

I dont think I need to go into farther detail as its pretty self explanatory. PM me if you need answers.

i like it but it does seem a little to fast and generic. i dont know how hard it would be to get all starting 32 qbs 3,5,7 step dropbacks i guess you could go on youtube or nfl.com and find highlight videos of each qb and try to see the way they drop back 3,5,7 and have your ex college qb try to mimic them they best he can. that means the same dropback speed as well

Re: Requesting feedback on 5-step drop animation

Sry to bring up an old thread... but i wonder if Ian or any of the guys that went to Orlando could shed some light on this. Does the qb drop back animation in the alpha build look like the video? (I hope not)

I think that if you look at a slant from someone like kurt warner throwing you would see that they plant hard on the back foot and then drive hard to get the ball there quick. Also, the oline usually block more like a run play when the route is a slant so that the defensive linemen dont get a chance to get their hands up. That also keep the oline from running over the QB on a short drob back.
