Question about animaton engine

Quote:
In talking with them, they seem to be a big proponent of seamless transitions in the field. They felt a true manual system initiated too many unrealistic hurky jerky animations in fielding the ball.

I understand where you are coming from though, I myself would like to see it toned down a bit too.

I got this quote from the MLB 09 board, and Nemesis was responding to the OP who stated he didn't feel he had "total control" of his outfielders at times. This got me thinking about our own gripes and issues with Madden's animation system.

I guess this question is for Ian and the Madden team. Isn't there a way to use the current archived Mo-Cap animations within the current animation system so that the user has "total control" over them? Meaning, why can't we get the animations that happen currently, but have them happen real time at the moment of the button press? Why do we not have full control over our players on screen?
