Unfortunately, it looks like this year's Madden will have that feel of one team again... unless of course you opt to control multiple teams in your franchise. They're making strides, though, so hopefully next year we feel like an entire league is integrated in franchise mode.

Great read! Your thoughts are mine exactly, offline franchise has to keep me involved and having fun. It seems like this year with the fixed logic (trades, drafts, etc) and tuned up gameplay that franchise is going to be fun again.

Still going to wait this year to read reviews from fellow OSers and renting before buying, been burnt twice now on next-gen systems.

Welcome to OS Rob...

Totally agree with you in that offline franchise is the bread and butter. I think the fact that it has been given very little attention to the point that it's regressed has been the origin of alot of the discontent among the hardcore fanbase, particularly given the fact that they focused on gimmicks (rewind, backtrack...) instead.

I have to disagree with you in regards to Head Coach being boring... it's everything i would like in a franchise mode just without the ability to play sadly... i had hoped alot of it would be "ported" over to M10 but that looks like a pipe dream now .

Just sitting and waiting for Josh/EA to release some info on offline franchise mode after E3... the current info on it is coming from several different sources and they all sem to be contradicting eachother so i'll just wait and hope.

The rumour/fact that we can't trade future draft picks would make me think that they haven't changed Franchise mode at all, just tuned the faults of the last 4/5 years...

Still waiting patiently to get confirmation on anything franchise mode. wish some of the children around here would do the same... OS seems like everyone's got a megaphone now and using it as often as they can.

LOL matt you know what I mean. Ian does help out the whole team. He is lead designer. I am sure works with all of his guys. But anyway. Ian and crew is working on franchise mode. It is looking better then last year.

Yes Ian Cummings is the lead designer, but what about the rest of the Madden team? What about Phil Frazier-senior producer for Madden 10 and also Ian's boss. The Madden team together are doing an excellent job along with Ian and Phil.
