Is it possible to do formation subs on kickoff and punt teams?

From what I gather, a true "formation subs" menu is no longer in Madden and subs have to be done on-the-fly from the playcall screen. I noticed on Ian's gameplay vids that there is a tab for subs while he is calling his offensive plays. However, whenever it is a special teams situation, the "subs" tab is not there.

I am not sure how it is on Madden 08 or 09 because I havent bought Madden since it has been on next gen but could someone explain to me if this was possible?

I am big on customizing my special teams lineup and not being able to do that would definitely be a disappointment.

Not a game-killer obviously but special teams is a big part of football and we should have the ability to put who we want on those lineups.

Ya doing subs on the fly is a little annoying bu nott a game killer. Hope they will add next madden..

You can do it in 9 and in 10. Pull up the formation subs menu during a game an on offense you can sub the punt team and on defense you can sub the kickoff team.

And this has to be done while the play clock is running, right?

Is this something I could set in the preseason? I ask because I would hate to sacrifice delay of game penalties in a regular season game working on something like this.

You can set it during the preseason but you dont even have to do this. All you have to do is start a game in your franchise. Make the subs for your team (You will have to take several delay of game penalties to do this) and then quit the game and save your franchise. In 09, the subs stayed from game to game. I hope the same happens in 10.
