Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

Couple things I don't like :

-Changing to different packages has changed. Why didn't they leave it the way it was? Choosing it at the formation screen so I can see where Fitzgerald lines up, instead of just choosing "Strong Slot" or whatever. I liked it the old way. Much easier.

-The playcalling screen should have the play on the left side be circle, but I guess that is just something to get used to. Shouldddd be something like Left is square middle X and right O. And back is triangle. Oh well.

-Injuries seem a little too much, but not that big of a deal.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

i just had a play where Warner threw an interception when he was throwing to larry Fitzgerald and Kurt had no pressure on him at all.

The problem is, right after the play, i get a cutscene of Warner screaming at the Right Tackle(did his job) and then Whisenhunt screaming at Boldin(who was completely out of the play on the other side of the field).

cutscenes are all nice and pretty but if theyre illogical then they are useless imo

I just don't know how they would replicate that in Madden aside from using the pure ratings.
i dont know if madden current engine is capable of replicated but they would have to start from square one. they would need new ratings to handle things like read and react in regards to footwork, awareness, and execution for all position. madden engine is a flawed system for FOOTBALL and bring true simulation to life. so in order for them to follow the NFL from technique to execution they would have to start from square or focus the WHOLE ENTIRE dev cycle to that aspect of the game

For the naysayers in the thread that stated people will want to rip Ian and EA a new one for making a challenging statement:

Have you ever worked in business before and you are the underdog and your product has been lacking for a few years.

Would you rather have someone in management not say a word and just sit there and produce the status quo or would you rather have a manager look you straight in the eyes and tell you it's Hammer time. Let's kick some butt.

I'd rather have the Hammer time boss. If we come up short in some peoples eye, it wasn't for the lack of effort.

Anyone with a straight face that can tell anyone that 10 isn't much better than 09 is not telling the truth.

We want some one like Ian in charge that will listen to our frustrations and see if he can implements the changes throughout the whole Madden series.

For some of you, being much better than 09 won't be enough. I respect that, but also respect those that feel 09 is much better than 10.

We all have different expectations of what a good game of video game football is. We all aren't the same and that is a good thing.

I have seen about a 70/30 in favor of the demo being good. This is the problem that I was talking about in other threads. Its ok for people to post 4 times about how good the game is playing and whatnot. But as soon as a guy says they dont like the game. It turns into the whole basher, naysayer, ***** thing. Im just saying let people say how they feel and leave it at that. Why does it always have to turn into a basher or fanboy thing?

Good point. I think Ian and company put alot of stuff in based on what we asked for, and made the game prettier in the process. But some adds don't seem to be implemented with true regard for what's happening on the field, or some don't make any sense at all. Like the Cardinals in front of the Steelers bench during the SB intro-what is that? Now, I don't like the way the tackle cutscenes happen a bit too early, and I can defnitely live with that. It just seems that some adds are done in a way that a 5 year old would do it. I mean, put some thought into it, don't just cut and paste everywhere, repeatedly. What happens on Sunday, is we get different camera angles, and not always at the same times on each play.
It looks like they at least got the TD celebrations right, by showing the right guy. Now, they just need to clean up some of these other shots.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

thats why i said they need to devote alot of the dev cycle revamping the current engine especially when it comes to blocking. no one block in real life like madden block and i dare anyone to show me vid comparing. im not saying madden dont block right cause it times where they do follow there assignments but like i said its very inconsistent to the point where its fake
