That makes sense. If they only did what the hardcore base wanted they'd probably lose a lot of those casual gamers because the game would be too hard, it would require too much football knowledge.

That article is purely conjecture.

I am willing to bet that most casual Madden gamers would disagree with the statement that the game caters to them.

It is far from what hardcore gamers want, but it is a lot closer to it than what it has been in the past, with casual gamers being the ones left behind.

Did you even read the article? This is coming from an officer at EA:

"Now the casual and social gamers vastly outnumber the hardcore, which has been fixed at around 50 million players worldwide."

Any successful company changes with the times, and most people that are getting into gaming are casual gamers, which is why EA tends to them more and more.

Yes, I read the article and saw the stats like the one you mention.

And unless I missed it, the article never mentions any specific example of the game that is something that is catering to the casual fan.

I would like to know what does? To me, this version of the game tried to get away from anything that they have done in the past that has catered to the casual fan.
