I wonder how many jobs EA could have saved buy just going with the old liscense system they paid for in 2005 and using the savings to retain those lost employees.

More competition for ea= More sales for ea

They need a reason to step up their developing of games. Competion will bring just that.

Madden 2005 was the last year of competition (and in my opinion the best game, which is not a coincidence).

If you have different numbers I'd like to see them.

Yep. One day your walking down the street as just another complaining tax paying citizen. A week later...your just another out of work bum. Or at least I've felt like that a few times.

Congrats on the state job Kpkpkp!

Isn't this coming from the same guy who said "We don't care about quality; we care about sales"?

I don't blame ea for attempting to expand its business. So things didn't work out the way the expeted, and they had to lay people off. For the non grownups in this forum who don't understand business "that's how the game is played!"
.
The good part is that the people who will be laid off are very talented individuals. The market has room for them to start their own development companies. "When life hands you lemons".

I don't care what they do as long as they bring me Skate 3 and a new game in that series ever couple years.

Those are quality games, right?

Does this pretty much signal the official death of NCAA Basketball? Now that they've said they're cutting back.
