    Left-handed QBs

I was just wondering if there was a way to tell whether a QB is is left or right handed in the draft or in free agency. I drafted a left-handed QB with A potential but I had to trade him away because I just found him awkward to use.

    There's a difference?

I'm not being sarcastic - I just never gave much thought to it. Do the lefties throw certain routes better? Longer throws from the left hash to the right side to the extent where it changes timing?

I'm going to have to look at Josh Johnson's throwing hand now. Maybe THAT'S why I suck with him. Yeah, that's it. *nods to himself*

Would be interesting because I'm a lefty thrower in real life (not that I play QB - but if I throw a ball, it's with my LH). I might have to get my a lefty QB so I can feel like I'm throwing

To answer your question - I don't think I've ever noticed anywhere that show throwing hand. Maybe if you do R3 to bring up the player information? I know I've never seen it listed in the fantasy draft interface or the FA screen.

The main problem is that in my other franchise save game I have a rushing qb. I naturally roll out to the right now to avoid pressure. In the case of my former left handed qb, he tries to set feet every time leaving him in a prime position to take sacks. Thinking about it maybe it simply down to his 'throw on the run' stat. The only thing is I don't seem to have problems rollout left with a right-handed QB.

I'm left handed and I play quarterback for my high school team so I have no problem playing with lefty QBs. <input id="*******" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

Can you edit his throwing hand?

What does that have to do with Madden? I'm rigth handed and play just fine with left handed QBs...

Agreed. I remember way back in the day occasionally trying to play with Mike Vick for fun or Leinart in NCAA and I just didn't like the left hand release it definitely feels different than the nighties when you have a tendency to roll out to that side when passing.

I naturally roll out to the right in Madden and it feels awkward to me when doing so with left handed QBs. If you have to run with the ball there's a turning motion that has to happen that slows you down.

only difference really is rolling out just roll to the left and it will be the same as a rh qb unless its too hard for you than keep with rh qbs and keep rolling right lol

No...I understand, I was saying what does throwing with your left hand in real life effect how you control a left handed QB in the game? I dont think there is a corelation at all. I dont know, I role out both sides equally, so I guess the hand preference of the QB never bothered me. I actually prefer left handed QBs....well in past Maddens I have.

My buddy use to draft lefties and just edit there throwing hand to right. I know that is cheating, but we didn't notice for a while. lol.

Really, if it bothers you that much just do it unless you're a big online player and don't want to confuse yourself.

Actually i think they did away with that lag that occurs while the qb crosses the LOS when attempting to run. Unless we are talking about two different things?

Not that lag, and yes I think they did fix that.

I mean if your are left handed rolling out to the right, you are backpedaling which is naturally slower than if you are rolling out in a forward motion. So it's more awkward and slower than rolling out with a right handed QB to the right.

The natural answer is just to roll out to the left but then you are rolling out to the weak side of most plays. And while you can flip plays, it just seems easier to keep it to right handed QBs for me.

Another reason why Madden 11 should have a combine!!

Let me play with my guy before I draft him. I hate left handed QBs too.
