Looks good but how often does one play a close up game to see the details in the face. I rather EA overhaul player models and make them look more realistic...don't make everyone look ripped because most players like Linemen, quarterbacks, are not ripped.

player models look stif and plain. and those who say "well the graphics cant be the best bc they have to put 22 players on the field at onve" LOOK AT THE NCAA 11 SCREENSHOTS ! That looks like Play Station 5 graphics compared to this madden 11 screenshots. ders 22 players on da field in college as well so ders NO EXCUSES...Its ridiculous.

The difference is so minuscule its not even really worth discussion. I'm already skeptical of Madden 11 because if this is the only thing they have to talk about (i.e. lighting and minor graphical upgrades) then we are in for another year of mediocrity

Patience. It's not even April. We are just receiving crumbs of information. They are not loading the big guns now.

If they used camera's that were like TV where they show the QB just under shoulder (many times after an incomplete pass, for example), then this would be great. My gripe (in addition to the other issues I mentioned earlier) is that the camera's don't behave like a broadcast, and therefore angles like this one never happen during the game, which makes these pictures frustrating to look at. It's more like looking at a demonstration, because you know these will never wind up in the game.

I was watching some video of Madden 02 for PS2 and was surprised to find that the way the camera's behaved in terms of shot selection was a lot closer to broadcast than what we've had all generation:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZZsOudP2i4

Aside from great stuff like intro's with name banners and sideline reports, or scenes of the coaches reacting intelligently to what's happening on the field... look at 8:24 of the video where Sehorn knocks down a pass from Grbac. Look at the post-play reaction from Sehorn. It's much smoother than anything we get now. The post-play player reactions today are terrible. And look at the camera shot on Sehorn, it's done well. But then they went a step further and they showed Grbac in the huddle trying to collect himself and the camera shot was nice.

... the fact that it all moved so smoothly is what I like most about it. None of this moves smoothly in Madden today, the camera's aren't right, the shot selection is almost never right. It doesn't flow like a broadcast at all.

Shots like these would make detail matter more and I'd have a lot more enthusiasm about the pictures they're releasing. But it's hard to get enthused about something I'm never going to see while playing the game live as a result of the camera's not being right.

The last two years they've been working on broadcast elements, and there was improvement last season. But at some point, they've got to nail this thing with the camera's. Above all the other presentation elements, this one thing with how camera's operate and how scenes chain together is paramount.

Yeah that statement really was ridiculous.

Anyways, the graphics are perfectly fine.

Heck, I would be happy with Madden 10 graphics for the rest of this gen if by keeping them the same, things such as progressive lighting, better field degradation, and interactive sidelines are added.

Exactly. Madden 2001 I think was some of EA's best post play camera work. The game was always on display when PS2 was just being released and it wow'd alot of people off of the camera's alone.

I went into replay mode and captured what I think some of the post play shots should look like. They would definitely help the wow factor since the graphics are so good up close. Forgive the cellphone quality.

Add in some long post play animations and this game could go alot further convincing people it is a real broadcast.
