No. The wildcat was foolishly easy to defend in '10.

Implement it properly, or dont put it in the game at all.

Just program both sides of line of scrimmage to function properly and any potential wildcat cheese, wont be a problem.

Wait...nevermind.

I'd like to keep for offline franchise.

Understand if onliners don't like it.

Whats the difference between running 5 wildcat plays all game , and running 5 shotgun pass plays all game?

Because the average game doesn't utilize more than 13 plays.

Really? Are you going to defend the wildcat as it stands in Madden? Is that what you really want to do? Just stop it man.
I'm defending the wildcat. What's your argument against it? It is no more effective than any other traditional run play. And post-patch, some wildcat runs were rendered useless. The wildcat was not overly effective in M10. I've played with and against it countless times online. Anecdotally, I believe its the same as most other plays.

Rebuttal?

I like the wildcat i think it can be effective in the right offensive style. they need to open it up a bit, plus with the locomotion i think it can be defended better also. It gains yards irl and is hard to defend at times, so i just think they need to open it up alittle . its the nfl version of the speed option.

baloney. It is absolutely more effective than a traditional run play for no other reason than you have an additional blocker in the wildcat. The combination of an extra blocker, suction blocking, nonexistent defensive gap assignment, and shameful pursuit angles in Madden makes for a headache when the wildcat is used by a knowledgeable player. there is no "clear cut" approach to stop the wildcat.

so let me get this right. EA cripples the wildcat, in your opinion, to a point that it renders certain plays useless, and you applaud this as a proper implementation of the wildcat running scheme? I want wildcat in the game, but I want it to work fairly, on BOTH sides of the field. You seem to think the balancing act is in minimizing a play's effectiveness through programming. That my friend, is poor implementation and it needs to be addressed.

its more lipstick on a pig

Nothing wrong with the wildcat IMO. The defense is just broken. Play calling method, playbook, AI, animations, interaction, ect.

Stay focused people. Suggest fixing what's broken instead of removing & band-aiding.

^^^^^^that's what i'm saying in a nutshell. even with a broken defense they could have put wildcat in the game fairly. but it needed to work in conjunction with the current, broken defensive setup. instead they just slapped wildcat in the game with complete disregard of how it fit into the framework of the rest of the game.
