ncaa football will never steal maddens thunder

especially since alot of people only buy it just to see what madden is going to play like

you know what is crazy though, is if both games run on the same animations and same running locomotion that means both madden and ncaa series had the same people working on it for both games. so why did madden not have the time to get other stuff in. even the lighting looks better in ncaa but that is just my opinon. it made all the sence in the world to share the same animations from a financial point of view. the ncaa series needed a big year anyways it has been a long time that there was this much excitement for the college game.

I think it depends on where your passion is. If your attention is more towards college , then Ncaa will always get your love and money. For me, its always been the NFL. I think Madden will play better than Ncaa this year. I was not overly impressed with the demo, but i always thought ncaa was a year behind madden.

I truly dont think Ncaa will ever de throne madden as far as popularity or gameplay, It did make some significant strides this year and the gap between the two games is closer than it has ever been.

with that said.........i will say NO to the question at hand

Asking since the major gameplay additions (outside of gameflow/gameplan) seem to be basically the same in both games.
Where do i start? The gameplay, and "feel" just seems better, if i can explain it, tighter, more polished. I didn't fool around with gameflow too much, but i don't think ncaa has this feature. I'm pretty sure NCAA's "gameplan" is to set gameplay parameters to "aggressive", "balanced" etc. Madden's "gameflow" will actually allow you to set up to 10 plays for nearly every down and distance situation.

The one thing that i don't see many people discussing, and how foreign (in a good way) it made Madden feel was the "strategy pad". This one change made the game feel completely different. EVERYTHING from line shifts and stunts, LB shifts, coverage assignments, hot routes, individual defensive assignments, everything must be done by accessing the strategy pad.

When i first sat down to play the game, i called my favorite 3-4 blitz with my Jets, hit "LB" down, "RB" down, manually moved my RILB into the "A" gap, pressed "Y" down to bump, and literally nothing happened. It was a shock because once i found eberything to be on the dpad, you had to press the dpad just to bring up the menus, then up for coverage assignments, left for DL, right for LB's, then another menu opens with 4 options on the dpad (such as shifts for whichever group you picked) and 4 options on the right stick (for stunts etc). This simple change made the game feel completely different, but i liked it. It felt new.

Gameplay on the field, when in the open field the camera angle seemed to get closer to the action, the animations felt very clean and overall player movement and animations just felt more fluid. Graphically, game looked VERY clean.

Not alot you can put into words, but Madden just felt, and played, to me at least, far better than NCAA. I have been the very first person who has complained and wanted much better physics from the very beginning of this console cycle. To be honest, for the first time in over 20 years i wasn't crazy to play the game. My friend who has it, had to basically twist my arm whereas in years past i would have knocked his door down. Well, after logging in about 4 full games, i can honestly say that M11 is a very solid game, and i can't wait to get my hands on it.

did you play it at E3? but besides that ......i feel the same way from what i have seen of the footage. what about the catching animations? from the vids at e3 , they seemed much more polished and the sideline catches look like they have been fixed.

thanks for the feedback

Nope, as i said above, my friend has the game. Has had it for a lil over 2 weeks.

Yes, the sideline catches are MUCH improved, the best they have ever been on an EA football game, and the catch animations overall, well all animations overall seem much more polished.

Because I don't have time to play two football games.

Re: Did NCAA 2011 Steal Madden's Thunder?

Don't expect the games to play the exact same, trust me on this one I've played both and they feel entirely different.

NCAA needs to be played on slow while Madden needs to be played on very slow for the best most realistic feeling results.
