Like I had anything to do with this being in the game, I just play it, I hated the change at first then a few days later I began to love it. Its a lot more user friendly being able to just use your left thumb to handle almost any changes on offense and defense.

Why don't you guys try giving it some time and getting used to it before you flip out over something.

Like I said its not something I liked at first either but I at least gave it a chance.

I'd like it more if it didn't have to be "activated"...but all in all I like it just the same.

Looks like EA is back to their old tricks. This is definitely going to take some getting used to.

Re: Official Strategy Pad Discussion Thread

Guys - Memorizing it or adapting to it has nothing to do with it when the delay is there intentionally and then also you're dealing with the crappy d-pad, which misses commands and/or is not very responsive in itself on the Xbox 360.

I've already memorized it (in 2 games) and find myself having to re-do the commands because of the interface being so poor. This has already caused me several delay of games and/or not getting commands in due to the lack of responsiveness and EA's poor choice to put it on the d-pad.

FAIL.

I'm going to be a tad schitzo here, because I can see both sides.

Terrible argument. It'll take days, if that, to become accustom to StratPad.

True, but we don't have a play-designer, so its as close as we have. I'm stuck with the existing plays, and adjustments are the only way to get some of the schemes I want (notably, 8-in-the-box formations).

I have no doubt that I'll get used to it. I have no doubt that at some point, I wont want to go back... because I'll be used too it. But that doesn't mean I think it was a good change to begin with. It seems like change for the sake of change to me, and that's not good.

So I average out to neutral on it. I am not worried about not being able to adjust, but I don't understand the purpose.

I think the best argument against it is that NCAA and Madden should have the same controls. But that can just as easily be used as an argument for NCAA adding it, and to be honest, I don't care which is done... take it out of Madden or add it to NCAA- do either one of those things for 2012 and I'm happy.
