I'm what you'd call an EA ***** but that was better than I expected. I won't be buying the game (at least not the current gen version) but it seems like if they could make tackling more realistic then the game wouldn't be bad at all. I think they need to go back to the old system where guys would go down after being hit more or less right away. Rarely are guys able to stand up and fight a defender to break away, but it seems on Madden that pretty much every time the ball carrier has a split second where he might break free. I realize they want it to feel like every tackle could be broken rather than just accepting the fact that you've been tackled, but it makes it look much less realistic. They also need to fix gang tackling, too many guys just flopping around the ball carrier while one guy takes him down. I'd like to see guys "finishing" off a runner who is going down/mostly down like in real life. I don't mean the whole NFL Blitz thing where you jump on him, but more tackle assisting rather than the "fall on the ground" stuff. I wonder if the game engine is the problem in this regard.

Nope, the crowd in Denver chants IN-COM-PLETE after every incomplete pasd thrown by the opposing team in the game. A lot of people who aren't Denver fans think the same ad you do, but I'm originally from Denver and still fly up to 1 game a year.

The 1:03 mark in the second vid. That's simply an embarassment for the Madden series at this point. The weird thing is that it didn't happen in NCAA as much or in Madden 10.

I have to agree about the crowd being way too quiet between plays. It really destroys any illusion that I'm playing in a big NFL game with thousands of fans excited about the next play. Sadly, so many other things like licensed soundtracks & specific crowd cheers really add to the atmosphere. That makes the dead silence between plays sound even more ridiculous.

After seeing these videos & playing the demo, I'm going to have to rent Madden 11 before deciding if it's worth plunking down $60 for.

What happened? Whatever it was I didn't notice- it looked like a tackle on the left side of the field.

The horrible player interaction. One person making a tackle but 4-7 other defenders all fall down like bowling pins because they're unable to affect the outcome of the play in any way. I figure given all the time this has been a HUGE issue, a lot of people like yourself just accept it as the way the game's supposed to play. But it's a huge gameplay issue imo

I'm glad they added the In-com-plete! in there but good god, it sounds like a bunch of EA employees in a parking garage....and instead of sounding cool, it just sounds annoying.

EA: Please hire other sound folk to get this done correctly (see MLB: The Show, NBA 2k10, MLB 2k10, NHL 10), thanks!
