Very late reply but I really wouldnt call that a small change at all. I played a game online today and didnt even bother trying to adjust my defensive players because by the time you finished trying to read which button to press to do something my opponent had hiked the ball. Hot routing offensive and defensive players and shifting dlinemen, linebackers, and dbacks before the snap is easily just as important as anything done after the ball is snapped and to just change it from one system that has been a certain way for years into something different that is not as quick, fluid, or intuitive doesnt make any sense at all. As it has already been said if they wanted to change it then they should have had both options available from release and let the consumer decide which method they wanted.
