Mays was a bum lol, he couldn't even beat out old timer trotter for the starting MLB spot. Did he have coverage skills cuz he couldn't cover his own self lol

Re: Who Are Your Favorite NON-Star Players?

Hmm, this is a tough one. I didn't play madden 10 a whole lot because of terrible pursuit angles, and Madden 11 "just came out" so it's too soon to answer for this game. I guess going back to Madden 09 [which I played a lot of fantasy draft by myself and another with a friend of mine,] I could answer for that. I love using the 3-4 defense, so when we drafted players we would often find ourselves selecting DE Igor Olshansky, OLB Manny Lawson and OLB Pisa Tinoisamoa because they were fast/strong lower rated OVR [mid to low 70's] players that fit the 3-4 well and you could draft them in later rounds. We would also look at Run DMC [Darren McFadden] as a backup HB. When I did try to play madden 10 and franchise mode I would often trade Alex Smith for Matt Lienart, and it was mostly a straight across trade.

In years past I liked to use Vernon Davis before he broke out and became a Super Star. Before Davis entered the league, I would use players like Teyo Johnson [madden 04-06] or the aging Frank Wycheck prior to that. Tai Streets was "the man" for me for a number of years. Often he would be my #2 or #3 and just like Jeff Garcia of the 49ers and Tom Brady in College, Tai would often be my go-to-receiver on 3rd downs.

Oh, and I don't know where to quantify this, but for YEARS I hated Drew Bennett. Since Madden 03 he was a thorn in my side. Over the years I played a lot of Fantasy Drafts and in one fashion or another he would turn up to just ruin me. Year after year, franchise after franchise when I played a team that had Drew Bennett, I would get torched by him all game long and lose that game. Then, in real life one year he signed on with 49er's rivals, the St. Louis Rams, and I had to play him twice a year in my non-fantasy draft franchises as well!!!

It wasn't just madden either... in ESPN NFL 2k5 he would harass me as well. In that game, because he played well the prior year with the titans, he would find his way to the Pro Bowl... which I used to play back in the day. Oh how I LOATH video game Drew Bennett. I swear, if there were a video game Hall of Fame, I would nominate Drew Bennett because of what the computer could do with him.

oh, and yes I thought of trying to "solve" my problem by drafting him myself or trading for him and abuse the computer with him, but honestly that would have taken the fun out of the rivalry. Though, I guess it isn't much of a rivalry when I could never defeat him...

Re: Who Are Your Favorite NON-Star Players?

I reregistered here just to comment on Drew Bennett. I HATE that guy. Especially when he was with the Rams. I would also play as the niners and obviously my focus was shutting down Tory Holt and Isaac Bruce all day. And Drew Bennett probably averaged over 150 yards recieving against me every game. I hate Drew Bennett, I hate the old school Rams. Always messing up my defensive stats with 1 play 90 yard drive touchdowns. That pisses me off more than anything. Giving up all those yards and not even getting tackle stats out of it.

Re: Who Are Your Favorite NON-Star Players?

Ty Warren is a low 80s OVR at LE, but he plays like a 99. He always leads my team in sacks. Also, the Pats MLB Guyton is amazing in coverage for a LB and only a 75 OVR.

Re: Who Are Your Favorite NON-Star Players?

Julian Edleman- Catches everything and allows me to trade Welker
Brandon Tate - has solid speed and usually makes the first guy miss (allows me to trade Moss instead of resigning him)
Ty Warren - Solid up Front (sucks he's hurt this year in real life)
