Re: Why can't we get in-game saves?

Someone once brought up a significant question in regards to the new DPP feature. What happens if we play 5-min quarters and fail to meet certain quotas (ie. 50 yards rushing, or 200 yards passing, etc.) ? Then does that mean that the players' ratings will significantly decline the following week since the stats signify slumping?

In this case, it is necessary to plays the game long enough to produce realistic stats--which means in-game save is imperative for some of us gamers.

Out of curiosity, is there an actual stated reason from the developers why this hasn't been implemented? I'm not too concerned about it but it does seem odd that it's not in and hasn't been in this entire generation.

Here is the thing:

For someone who has a full time job, has to bring work home, has a life, etc. in-games saves are an absolute must. I simply cannot sit down and play Madden for large chunks of time like I used to.

That said, I have not purchased Madden since 2008 because of the lack of this feature. Sure, I'll rent it, check it out during a slow weekend, but when life comes a knockin', Madden goes back to the video store, and I go back to my 2007 xbox franchise (because it has in-game saves).

Why can't this feature be implemented? It is not like the 360 has too little processing speed or disk space. It just blows my mind.
Hope this doesn't come off as rude but I think it's because people like that are NOT the target market. Don't feel bad though because up until Madden 12 neither has mostly any exclusive offline Madden gamer.

We must remember that the ultimate goal, at least the past 6 years, seems to have been to "monetize" the gamer, digitally. They can't do that too well with features that make playing offline, by yourself, more convenient. If what we want can not have some limited use for online gamers and/or advertising revenue, it's probably not priority. We are lucky that Player traits applies to all modes because that's probably why it was being so heavily touted at E3.

It needs to be in there bottomline. How can you have in the PS2 versions and not now? Crazy.

With these newer systems having hard drives there is no reason sports games shouldn't have an auto save feature after key plays/quarters much like shooters have when you reach a checkpoint. When I had ps2 madden I always saved after scores/quarters just in case of freezes.

Ditto. I would love to see this feature in NCAA and Madden. I usually only buy 3 games a year and NBA 2k already has it so.... Come on EA!
