Sim your first year all the way. But while in off season mode manually go through all the steps. Right before you advance to the regular season you can look at everyone in the NFLs potential and how much their ratings increased that year. Also before that you should choose 5 QBs from the draft class in Individual Workouts to find out all of their ratings. Or just do that and hang with Sexy Rexy for this year.

You could take the time to start a franchise, control all 32 teams, look at rosters and sort by QB and then sort by potential and write a list down. You could do this in 10min or less and post it [I don't have Madden 12, or I would.]

I was thinking about posting a list of young A potential guys that start in the 60s-70s for all positions. After a franchise fantasy draft I've noticed a decent amount of A guys that were around 66 in the FA pool.

Just go to roster and change it to the whole NFL. Then sort by potential. The higher they are the higher their potential is. That'll help you tell a low A from a high A as well.
