If I select 'shade player left' when the WR is lined up on the right, does that mean the player is pushed outside or in?

I am struggling to figure it out.

Jammer is a really good Press corner, so on a small receiver like Ford pressing him should help a lot. Also user control the OLB to be in the path of the slant.
