Off-line Franchise issue with Team Rating

After completing my first season as the New Orleans Saints rated 86 overall I made very few moves in the offseason other than improving two or three positions. However, in the first regular season game my team is rated 71 overall clearly one of the lowest in the NFL. I averaged out my team rating by using the position breakdown overalls and it should be 85. I tried releasing some players changing the depth chart etc and it stayed at a 71. I don't know if this affects the game itself at all but it is extremely annoying. Anyone else having this problem or know of some solutions?

Don't know any solutions but I did notice this quiet a bit last year. When I knew my team improved. but the rating wouldn't change.

Haven't played enough in my offline chise to notice if it changed this year but sounds like it hasn't...

This sounds like a lot more than the rating not changing with an improving team. This is a team OVR plummeting 15 or so points for no apparent reason.

I don't think the team OVR does anything significant, but could be wrong. Annoying, though.

Ya didn't think of it like that it is quite a drop for no reason... who knows tho Madden is random like that. maybe one of the many famous "Madden Glitches"

but from what I can tell in past games the overall didn't have much effect on anything if any... its the starting players overall that makes the outcome different.

Didn't hapen to me. My vikes were rated an 84 in my 2nd season.
