If you have played 2k5/2k8, you know that this idea is not needed. EA just needs to do a better job and needs to completely redo the passing game.

Look no further than Sports Science to know that this idea is over reaching to say the least. Time is of the essence for the QB, to artificially slow down the trowing motion by design doesn't do justice to the elite Qb's in the league and only serves to even the playing field far too much in player VS player games. The best idea in my opinion is simply to tune the reaction time of the defenders (make the ratings matter) and lower the jumping ability of the linebackers while also changing their vision. Players simply can't make the accurate defenses to passes IRL like they can in madden. Sure a defender can make a play on a ball they don't see thrown based off of the receivers reaction, but they can only go for the block, "guess swat", or go for the receiver's hands. These things are currently not present in the game and would actually add to the realism if they were.

I agree with you two but there also needs to be an actual process added for taking possession of the ball on a pass. Even in NFL2k5, there was still the tendency for excessive interceptions and/or high scoring games due to ball possession not being better represented.

I believe passing in a football game should be very challenging, especially the deep game, to cause realistic apprehension. I equate the passing game currently in Madden and even from NFL2k5 as being like the 3 point scoring fests of last gen basketball games. Whenever a game allows the quickest way of scoring to be too easy, the results are acardey outcomes and solutions.

I understand this is a video game but it's supposed to be a simulation video game so the NFL simulated challenge for passing, running. blocking, catching, penalties, injury and all applicable NFL risk/reward, should be represented in some mode/setting. It would be nice if Madden represented things that other football games already have but that is not enough for a 2012 NFL simulation game, imo.

That stuff should be a given by now and we should be moving ahead to having a factory setting where, the gameplay is literally "a game of inches" and we have to "fight for every yard".

i play on cus all madden you must be holding the button to long. dont get me wrong the passing game in madden could be better, but in no way is it as bad as people say, i dont play online but i do play people i knowand i dont see Super linebacker, iv seen db's jump routes but irl db's watch game tape so they know what the wr is doing.

I'm assuming you mean "bullet" not "button". Lucky for you because it used to plague me in Madden for years, and it's still an issue in NCAA. At least 2 or 3 passes a game where a receiver is open 15 yards downfield and a linebacker who is 4 yards past the LOS jumps up the knockdown the ball. And the lead passing? Maybe I should tweak the sliders but when I use lead passing, it's asking to put the ball in a place where no one can catch it.

im able to do the same passes on NCAA also..how deep are u dropping back? best play to see the difference is a flood play with deep go, out, and a flat route...use touch to get it to the reciever on the out route vs cover3 and cover2

the first thing that came to mind when i saw the picture was basketball. i think using that meter as a release meter something like different jumpshots in basketball games would be a welcome change giving each QB a different style/feel depending on how long you hold the button. getting it into the green accounts for an accurate throw. trajectory still would need tuning so this may be needed for another thread but thought i'd chime in...
