i never had this above scenario in old gen...nor does this happen in real life. it's extremely rare if it happens at all. You never see a pendulum swing so one- sided so often.

Haven't read the other threads that you mention but I think (he can correct me if I'm wrong) his point is that these types of things happen consistently and there seems to be a pattern to it. I've experienced the same things enough to know that if I'm struggling through the first half, I'll be fine in the second and vice versa. I'm working on finding some sliders to help me with this type of thing but, when I was playing with a standard slider set, I rarely had a game where I was completely outmatched from beginning to end or completely dominated from beginning to end. In fact, I sometimes even found myself trying to pass instead of running the clock out at the end of a close game because I knew that a run was just going to get stuffed (or fumbled) and I'd end up punting with just enough time for the CPU to make it interesting.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy having competitive games but I also would like them to be competitive in a realistic way. If I play as the Packers and I'm consistently coming down to the wire against the Browns, that's not realistic but I could easily see it happening to "keep things interesting."

Simple answer this gen the focus has been on graphics and marketing gimmicks and not enough on gameplay.

Also folks don't get me wrong...this isn't a "bash madden, praise ps2 days" type of thread. Not my intention. I'm just pointing out what seems to be a real issue in the next gen versions of games. old gen didn't play like this. Old gen had it's issue and I could list a ton of them BUT I basically got hours of joy from it.
Next gen madden is a tease. It looks so good...even plays really well in spurts but too often leaves me feeling frustrated. Like a good looking dame that gets you all excited and then goes home.

For all the things Madden does wrong, I don't think most of those things you mentioned are really issues. The defenders don't even have animations to hold your receivers (unless you're referring to the press at the LOS).
I think he is upset because it happens way to often, not just that one game.

Perhaps the OP should ask the question....*In a nutshell, what's RIGHT with Next-Gen Madden?*

I hear what your saying. Not every game but sometimes I feel the CPU wants a close game. The end result is a close game but how we got there isn't the most realistic.

For example in my franchise the close games I have I usually get run all over. The CPU will rush for 180 yards on 10 carries even though I made initial contact in the backfield on 3 of the carries.
