Re: Help pick my M13 CC team

Sounds like the Chiefs to a T.
1. Cassel is not a franchise QB
2. Dwayne Bowe sounds like what you're looking for
3. Uniforms are classics. So....that doesn't fit perfectly.
4. Arrowhead is a great out door stadium. KC gets cold in the winter
5. Chiefs have some of the most cap room.

I disagree with this assessment, but here isn't really the place to argue. I will say this though:

In 08 he came in for Brady, he knew the offense, and he had player around him his stats were great (327/516, 63.4%, 3,693 yards, 7.2 ave, 21 TDs, 11 ints 89.4 QBR).

09 was bad because he did not know the offense and he had to adjust.

10 was another great year, even better than 10 even, because he had a run game (pieces around him), a guy to throw to, and he knew the offense. His stats were (in 15 games) 262 of 450 (58.2%), with 3,116 yards (6.9 yd/ave), 27 TDs, and only 7 INTs for a QB rating of 93.

Last season was another rough year for Matt because the Chiefs lost Charles really early in the season and because he injured his hand.

With Peyton Hillis and Jamaal Charles along with Dexter McCluster makes for a very dangerous trifecta IF USED PROPERLY. In any case, Cassel won't be expected to win the game by himself.

Don't get me wrong, Cassel has flaws. He isn't Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or Drew Brees, but he also isn't Trent Edwards, Matt Hasselback (no offense to Matt I love the guy, but come on), or Rex Grossman either. Cassel is the ultimate game manager. With pieces around him, and an offense he's comfortable with, Matt Cassel is a all-star quarterback.

PM me if you would like to argue (I don't want to derail this thread). I posted this here instead of just PMing you because I saw another person on here with similar thoughts.

Also, I'm a Bears fan not a Chiefs fan, so this isn't blatant homerism.

EDIT: And to answer the OP, THE ARIZONA CARDINALS. How did anyone miss this?

Thank you! Someone else who finally likes Russell Wilson as a quarterback.

While the Browns don't fit every one to a Tee, they come pretty close. With Weeden coming in at 28 years old (and I can only imagine Colt Mccoy taking a hit to his ratings) they certainly will need a QB. They have a couple higher rated players with expiring contracts. They have some nice throwbacks that I'm sure have carried over to Nike. And they have a pretty decent cap position.

Just a thought.

Re: Help pick my M13 CC team

Thanks for the responses everyone. Looking at teams I had never really thought of.

I have thought of starting as the Chiefs many a time. The backfield is loaded, and that I like, especially if I needed to deal one of them for a future draft pick. I feel the same way about the Browns, as it would be great to build around T. Richardson. I'm hoping Nike and either of those two teams agreed on some sort of new alt jersey, but as both franchises are pretty classic, i'm doubting they will. It's like Auburn getting a new jersey, never going to happen. Funny enough, Auburn is my Alma Mater, and during my junior year i actually wrote a letter to the athletic director asking for him to consider adding a third jersey. Still waiting on that response lol.

Cards have my interest peaked. I like the black alt jersey and with Fitz getting older, I could probably deal him for an early round pick if his guaranteed money isn't too high. I'll have to look into that.

I'm sad that I'll no longer be able to edit rosters before the season, if I could i could just cut the franchise QB (sad I know) and bring my own in. But maybe this is more realistic. Something i like.

Well, the floodgates are open. You guys have me thinking. I have five teams on the big board as of now. I'm going to do some contract research and I'll update after. Thanks OS.

I say Cards. Trade kolb and go with Skelton, have a dynamic duo at WR with Fitz and Floyd, nice young defense led by Patrick Peterson, not an outdoor stadium but I think the roof opens, and cool jerseys

Re: Help pick my M13 CC team

I'll try to pitch the Chiefs to you a bit more....

1. Their offensive line is young and set to be one of the better lines in the NFL for at least 5 years.
2. In addition to Dwayne Bowe, Dorsey and Albert are also in contract years.
3. Allen Bailey/Justin Houston on defense are both really promising young players. I don't need to tell you about Eric Berry and Brandon Flowers.
4. Even if you trade Bowe, you still have Baldwin (6'4), Steve Breaston, Dexter McCluster, and Devon Wylie.
5. RB's ARE stacked. You could trade one and be fine with Cyrus Gray as your #2
