Re: Madden 13 Video Community Day Roundtable Sim Standard vs Tourney style

I was thinking and comparing Ian's plan and Cam's plan and I must say their first years of their two largest improvements are much the same. Ian IMO had a great idea, but the execution of pro-tak, locomotion, etc was just mediocre at best.

Ian's First Year (2010):

Pro-tak: "New animation technology that allows up to nine players to be involved in tackles, ability to steer tackles, a more realistic pocket around the QB caused by a new blocking system, and QB avoidance actions"

Procedural Awareness: "System which allows each player to realistically follow the ball using head, eyes, neck and shoulders"

Cam's First Year (2013):

RTP

Read-and-React

Edit: About zig-zagging as Tazdevil mentioned, some fans just get used to it so they just assume it's realistic. I didn't really notice it all that much til I got APF 2k8 and then I realized, the huge difference. Screens are much harder to pull off, and running in the open field is actually challenging if you want to change direction.

One thing; Madden 13 is Cam's second year of his plan if you go by his interviews.

For this year that's correct Like I said, it's encouraging that the dev staff recognizes it, but I've heard that countless times before. Once I see it for real and I can put the other game down, Madden gets my money and my support. I'm anxiously waiting for that.

Nah...M12 really has the previous team's prints all over it. So it's really the new team's (including Cam) first year.

To be fair, I've also heard you say countless times you're done with Tiburon football. I'll give you your props if you stay away from M13 the entire year. It's the best football game they've churned out in years -- I'd be highly surprised if you sit it out.

Just as they're counters to most of the exploits, there's the same for those people who play sim ball. If the passion for winning wasnt so high and trying to be on top of the leaderboards as desperately as most try, then this wouldnt be an issue.

Once again, "cheating" is a "choice"! Cool for offline play, but please, for the love of whatever it is you believe in, keep it offline or amongst the community of people who share that type of mind frame is all im asking.
