There are about 10,000 rookies premade. There names are always random. Also each year the draft class is randomly sleceted.

Re: draft classes: pre-set or random ratings?

i have gotten the draft class with QB Pooh second rated and the top back Niles or Miles and the back always has 95 speed/acc and 82 injury.

if it's random, how can the same player come up with the same QB and have the same speed and accel and injury (among others; i'm just citing specific ratings i have unlocked more than once).

perhaps there is a random element for some players but certainly not all.

i have tested this several times. if you don't believe be, give me the name of the top rated QB of any class and tell me his speed and Accel and throwing power; i bet i will find that exact QB with the exact same stats.

Re: draft classes: pre-set or random ratings?

btw, i've literally spent about 8 -10 hours going over drafted classes in order to find the perfect one to start my career with, i've just begun to take notes but i've made mental notes of certain players like Pooh QB and his top HB, Niles.

i've been sitting there drinking, listening to metal and just restarting the last preseason week over and over and then scouting for a few rounds...

sad, but hey, that's the night life of a Madden player with a family gone to bed.

Re: draft classes: pre-set or random ratings?

the ONLY possibility that there's a random element is if all the players are uniquely generated at the VERY start of a career, and they keep cropping up in the same draft classes at game one of the regular season.

as i said, i've been restarting the game at the same point, just after preseason game 3 (a save, of course) then testing during reg. season one.

Re: draft classes: pre-set or random ratings?

I haven't spent too much time playing the game. I have however restarted multiple offline CCM's as a coach and have only seen 2 draft classes... 5 times with one and 2 with the other. All players exactly the same, with nothing changed about them. I'm just hoping I have been getting random luck of the same 2 and will start to get other draft classes. Playing the whole year with the same 2 draft classes at the start of each CCM would suck.

My opinion is there are some players that are dynamic these are the ones that have stories on them during the season, they will have varying story lines. A qb may be the most dominate qb in college football one time, and tear his shoulder in the third game the second time you go through it. The rest of the players are not dynamic and have the same ratings. I haven't paid attention to if their names or colleges changed for the non dynamic players.

If he tears his should is that actually going to change his rating? I understand it may effect his draft position, but won't he still have the same ratings? Also I don't think names are random like someone else said. I've noticed some of the same guys while testing things out in this mode.

Re: draft classes: pre-set or random ratings?

Yes it changes his rating, sometimes dramatically. Here's something I witnessed:

I got the draft class with Treon Patrick being the top wideout in a ccm I was doing. Twitter stories were positive about him all year. He went #1 overall and had an 88 OVR coming out of the draft. His QB was also a top ten pick and had a 78 OVR.

Got the same draft class again in another CCM. Treon Patrick had been injured for the season in the third game according to Twitter. People were worried about his speed coming back and all that. He falls to the top of the second round and has a 74 OVR. BUT here's the really cool part, his QB (can't remember the name, Myers maybe?) had a storyline that he was struggling without Patrick and he dropped to the second round as well. had 75 OVR or something. When that happened I truly knew that EA was on to something with this mode. I just thought it was so cool, one guy's story reacting to someone else's like that.

I think the non-storyline guys are the same each time, though.
