They added maximum passing but id nothing to counter it on defense.

well there is really no defense in the real NFL either, look at all the passing records that have been broken in the NFL, 400 yd games are normal now lol

I agree. We are in the passing era of the nfl and madden is trying to emulate that. Hopefully this will pass once Brady and Peyton retire and we can get back to balanced football.

cover 4 is pretty decent for 3 wr sets; run some man under for 4 and 5 wr sets...

but why did they take out defensive assignments? or am i over looking it?

I don't think its ever going back to glory days of ground and pound, when rb's got 30-40 carries a game. The main reason is all the defensive rules, my friends and I joke around and call the NFL the "NFFL", National Flag Football League because you literally can't hit offensive players anymore. I remember the days when only the daring wr's would run across the middle in fear of one the lb's and safeties knocking their face off a la steve atwater.

Haha. I don't know if you were serious or not but that made me laugh . My 3 yr old nephew plays the pass well offline too. I don't mean that as an insult to you but as an insult to the AI.

I wish they could program the AI QBs to be more like online players. Especially the Brees's and Rodgers's and good QBs. I want them to throw their receivers open the way that online players do with the lead passing.
